Sensitivities - a paradox? - I'm actually just as opinionated in life. The only thing that is different here is that I am surrounded by tons of thin-skinned and/or "conservative" swingers, where as in real life, if you will, I don't associate or surround myself with them. If I wish to participate in the forum, I am forced to accept everyone's contribution no matter how contradictory to the activities of the website or what some call "the lifestyle". In real life, I just walk away from the bullshit and not associate with it. As far as your study of internet ego, I would love to see this paper. Which doctor of psycology/sociology performed it?? What were the controls and in what environment? I would like to say that there are no "short comings" in my life, I just call bullshit when I see it and there is a ton of thin skinned whiners that I've learned to avoid for the sake of the community and my sanity, as I cannot stand having the same repetitive arguments with the same moronic crowd. In fact I would love to see that study of yours, shoot it to me in an email or post it here for all of us. I have no issues telling someone to fuck off in life either. Why Be In Utah? - - Actually I've always wondered the same thing about Florida. Substitute the crazy Mormons for the Bibile thumpers from Orlando north into the panhandle, add in the hurricanes, torrential rains, gaters, snakes and mosquitos...besides, I've heard the snow skiing is HORRIBLE there. But I'll bite. 1) No porn. You can buy dirty magazines but (unless you know where to go) hard core x-rate movies are technically illegal to sell. A non-issue in the internet age. If you're still buying dvd's at the local porn emporium you need to maybe update your computer or your media server or something. 2) No real beer. Again a myth. You can only buy 4% (by volume) beer in grocery stores but you can get full strength beer at state liquor stores, restaurants and places like brewery stores. Try getting ANYTHING to drink in some dry towns/counties in the Bible Belt. 3) True to some extent, although Salt Lake City itself is VERY eclectic and quite liberal politically. But at least our LDS lawmakers know basic female anatomy and have somewhat of a grasp of proven basic science. No kooky evangelicals freaking out every time someone mentions birth control or evolution. 4) Most people are afraid of Mormons? Really? I've heard they have horns and the missionaries CAN be a little annoying when you're fucking and they're ringing the doorbell but I don't think people are truly afraid. Besides, contrary to popular belief the swing scene here is alive, active and vibrant. I'd wager that per capita we have more, and more active, swingers than just about any place you can name. (Many of the resorts are topless-only -- and if you want to do "excursions" you're mixed with the vanillas, and all vanilla rules apply). - You can be completely naked on most parts of the ship, if you want. - Dedicated play-rooms. Lots of them. (Many resorts only have one smaller area dedicated for play... which makes sense... generally only 200 to 250 people at a resort at any given time). - MASSIVE crowd. 3,500+ people on a single ship. You'll never possibly get to know even 5% of the people on the ship. (In other words, you have a huge pool of people to choose from to find people you like!!). - Better / more types of food to choose from. Better alcohol choices. - Adult-themed vegas-quality shows every single night... followed by swinger-oriented after-parties. - Higher-end facilities and nicer overall atmosphere. (Cruise-ships are equivalent to a 4-star or even 5-star hotel. swingers resorts are usually 2-star..... 3-star at best.. most are pretty worn down and kind of gross). -----[ Resort Pros:]-------- - Smaller, more intimate setting. You'll get to know everyone at the resort at the time you are there. - Much more laid back. If all you want to do is lounge by the pool all day, every day, it's for you. - You can leave the resort any time you want and venture into town. - Typically you have better access to phones, internet, TV, etc. - Rooms at the resorts are bigger (although they are NOT nicer). If you look at the activity list on a typical resort, you'll find there's only one thing going on at any given time. Most people just lounge by the pool all day, every day -- and then they go to club-style events at night. The cruise is totally different... At any given time, you can choose from 3 or 4 different activities (or just lounge by the pool)... and you can still do the club-style stuff at night IF YOU WANT.. (but there's usually other alternatives to pick from). Honestly, the ONLY major downside to the cruise compared to the resorts is that they don't do the swingers takeover cruises very often. (Once or twice a year is all you've got to pick from). So if you're picky about WHEN you go... the resort is probably your only bet. If you're flexible, don't give it a second thought... the swingers cruise is where it's at. =)
