Ironically we have never even been blinked at, let alone HIT on at the infamous "swingers gym." The staff is fastidiously careful to avoid even the slightest sexual comment or compliment. It's terrible. We just work out, throw up, and go home.

Has swinging changed? - - We know there are always a lot of noobs so this might not be the best question for them but for those of you who've been doing this a while, has the lifestyle changed? If so, in what way and has it changed for the better? We started swinging MANY years ago. In fact we were still in college! Now we've never been really hard core swingers and have taken many breaks over the years...sometimes for years; when we've had other stuff going on in our lives and/or we needed time for ourselves. But we've seen some fairly drastic shifts in the whole vibe in the lifestyle especially the past 5 years or so and wondered if anyone else has noticed this?
When is this site going to get back to SEX - - I would suggest that if you'd like hotter topics, provide the threads. The forum has been kept running by people who present topics, albiet sometimes controversal and mostly about things other than the lifestyle.
On other sites to which we belong or did belong the topics were about how to meet women by single men or from people who wanted advice as to how get their spouce, SO, G/F past the talking stages and into the lifestyle...It seems that since there are no questions and everyone is a swinger of experience that subjects from newbies are not here. There are no Newbies here???? MAybe people come into the forum see the posts and figure that they will be looked down upon by all of those hardened and seasoned swingers....
So to facilitate putting this forum onto the swinging scene, people need to toss caution to the wind and take advantage of all of the experience here. A thought just crossed my mind.... could it be that the people here are simply talking the good game. Now that will probably get me flamed from many sides. So please stop complaining that the forum is not about swinging and sex and make it that...

Equal Treatmeat for all singles - singles - As a couple we feel that everyone should be treated the same. There are alot of males ( single or not ) that are gentlemen. And of course there are the ones that are not. We went to a swingers party once were the host was a married man (and his wife their also) that drugged all the females. So should he get away with it were he is a married man? I am a shy person and i respect people and their boundries. Where alot of married males do not. Weather or not I am or ever will be single you still have to respect other peoples feelings. No matter if you are married or single.
Positive Media Attention - KUTV should have read this - A lot of metaphorical ink was spilled in recent weeks about how awful the KUTV piece on swingers is/was. Thought you all might all appreciate this Op-Ed in the news magazine The Week (one of the most prestigious mainstream news mags) ... sometimes the media does portray things in a positive light. Kudos to the Portland couple for their articulate defense of the lifestyle.

Can I say hello? - What to do in public - Really for us it depends on the people that recognize us and whether or not they have some common sense and are sensitive enough to be careful when necessary. If they are the type of people that can say hello in a public place and be friendly without flaunting their swingers insignia and secret handshake and singing the swingers theme song and such then we have no problem being approached in public. The local churches all have the ultra vocal keepers of the faith that have to define everyone and everything under the Johnny one note shallow interpretation of their religion because it is too terrifying and painful to be a whole complex person and therefore they live for the pats on the back that come from the endless recitations of their creed. There are people that become far too single minded in all sorts of pursuits including swinging that can become just as annoying and dangerous.
Where we are when you see us makes a difference too in what we consider appropriate. If we are in the grocery store or out to dinner with friends or family then saying hello is fine but we ask that anyone that approaches us please leave the swingers content completely out of what you say to us. Do not hit on us. Our friends and family know the two of us are busy and social and we both have friends as individuals and as a couple that we have met in a variety of ways so people say hello to us, which they do not know all the time anyway. Some people that we know are clients and so if we do not offer an explanation about how we know you, our family and friends assume it is probably from work. If we are at a bar and obviously looking playful and sexual in are demeanor and dress and you want to approach us fine, but even then be a bit discreet in your initial approach. If we are talking with someone or obviously with someone then be a bit discreet because we party with vanillas too. If they are people that we trust we probably won't care if they get a hint of what you and we might share in common. Many of our friends and even our family members know we are not always 100% monogamous and they also know we are multifaceted and involved in many things so non monogamy for us is only part of who we are and what we do and not a defining consuming aspect of our lives.
We tend to shy away from saying hello to people in public places that recognize as being in the lifestyle unless we already know them because we do not want to make anyone uncomfortable.
WIFE AND I WILL BE AT CLUB HABITS SATURDAY 23 - - I went to a meet/greet a while ago at Club Habits and instantly became a member due to the environment and dress code. Our friends love it there and often after our "naturalist swim" Saturday nights we go to Habits and finish the night off. The Naturalist group are not swingers however if any swingers/members find themselves there Saturday night I would love to have you join my wife and i for a drink and say hello.
We always sit in the same place, the small room near the front west corner from 9-10pm until close.
This is in no way a special event or to take away from the regular group that meet at this club. Just my way of inviting other club members to look us up.:D
