What is up with Utah?! - Swingers in Utah and nowhere else? - I got a bit bored reading all the replies, plus it is pretty late at night, so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned. From what I remember, the couple who started the site are from Utah. Since it started here more of the members are from here. I think it is one of those things where once you build up enough critical mass in an area it really starts to grow.
Black Ring, Right Hand - How to tell if someone's a swinger - We have already been approached by swingers that somehow recognized us and knew enough about us to say "Hey aren't you Deliciously Wet, we wanted to say hello" and it was not at a swingers function but the grocery store. This same couple started talking about swingers topics right in front of the produce, which might have stimulated cucumber sales but we felt a bit unsettled. We are not sure that set well with us. So confirming someone's suspicions, by wearing a black ring, that we are who they think we are sort of depends on who recognizes us as swingers and their judgment. We might consider wearing black rings when at a bar or a club or maybe we could put them on if we want to let someone know we are swingers or if we are just feeling it at the moment. When swingers are densely populated in an area.. yes.. that's bound to happen.. However, a tiny fraction of the population are actually swingers.. so when you're talking about something "in the wild" (versus at a meet-up), this isn't likely to be a problem.

I'd say we're years (decades?) away from that ever becoming a problem. Black rings would need to be EVERYWHERE before the general populace catches on to it... and then you just move on to something else.

I'm not sure which part of the black-ring suggestion takes "spending a lot of time"... Attending meetups is DEFINITELY the preferred way to find swingers (well, and web-sites, like this one)... But talking to people who've actually seen the black-ring in the wild and MET swingers in open, public, spaces... there's a certain excitement that comes from that.

Don't worry. Not gonna slam ya. Just curious what state(s) you're talking about. We've lived and 'swung' :-) in a number of different states. Additionally we're on another, older swing site that is FAR larger than this one and people on that site often complain about how closed, cliquish and inhospitable swinging is in their particular area (most notably Minnesota where the site originated and especially in California where there is ostensibly a much larger population of swingers than in most areas). Personally we've found the swinging community here to be much more open than many areas we've visited. Of course openness is relative when it comes to an activity that most people tend to hide, like swinging.
