It's not that easy. What if the man falls for the girlfriend. It is possible to love more then one person romantically, it happens all the time. Even friends of mine who have cheated on their wives, still love their wives, it's not just sex to some of these men.
Sometimes I wonder if "Swingers" or "lifestylers" get so paranoid about falling for someone that they miss some of the fun that comes with sexual play with those you care about or ...cough...love. Love isn't something that is always controllable or a feeling that always can be tamed. I've read these posts for years, and it happens all the time in the lifestyle. Couple "A" plays with single male or female, they play often, soon one of the couple is in love with the secondary, then all hell breaks loose. I just asked myself, why? That person you fell in love with originally is still the same person, they may love someone else as well, but they in most cases still love you as well. Shut down the social conditioning that tells you it's wrong! So is swinging by the way if you listen to those religious cultural voices. Talk it over with your spouse, let them know it's okay to feel what ever they want to feel. Keep those communication lines open, and often the "fallen" partner will realize they love two and they do not have to love only one person. Sorry for the sermon, but I just cringe when I read these replies where people attempt to deny what makes them fundamentally human. It's okay to love others, even if they are not your spouse. I used to work for a MORMON sex therapist... his usual statement" Love is easy... for the most part it requires the right emotion and the right impetus.... It's the RELATIONSHIP that is hard." I love many of the bodies/minds that I've touched... but I've never found a satisfaction better than what I've discovered with a husband of 17 years and our two amazing kids. I don't need anything from outside sources but a chance to see "what's out there..."
Perhaps that's the real difficulty... analyzing our motives and admitting our jealousies. For example, I consider myself flat chested... It's why I LOVE encounters with buxom women... but I am willing to admit that my interest comes from a place of jealousy ... I don't ignore jealousies...I use them to my advantage. I am not girlfriend material... Monogamy bores me. But I do fit in with the group of couples who want full honesty.
Swingers gone bad?? - - I can't or wwon't take the moral high ground here. I believe what was done was legally wrong. I was having sex by age 12 and knew what I was doing then. Was I legally competant??? According to statutes then and now, I was too young to make a good judgement. Did these boys or any others boys ever need alcohol to get into the mood to have sex??? Legally they did wrong.... If the boys were 10, 9 maybe even 11 maybe then they sould be too young to participate...
Now people taking the moral high ground........ Is swinging morally right? The lifestyle is sometimes called a fringe thing. It's not illegal according to the law but there are those who say that morality says that sharing each other with someone outside of the marriage is wrong. For those of you in Utah.... Polygamy, polygyny and polyandry is wrong... Actually the state had to outlaw the practice of having more than one wife or they wouldn't have gotten statehood. So they used the term Polyegemy or having more than one wife or having more than one husband at the same time. Polygyny is having more than one wife at the same time. It is illegal in most states for either of these 3 states or conditions to exist or to participate in.
I guess what I'm saying is, Are swingers morally upright or righteous enough to make the moral judgement on these people. Certainly, what they did was illegal but.... 50 years ago what we do today would have gotten us ousted from the community, church, loss of job (and that could still happen today) and maybe even jailed, under the right circumstances..
So, before we cast the first stone let us be certain that we are righteous or that we are well outside of our glass house.
This lifestyle - What are we really? - Well I think that is crap. We are TRUE swingers by all means. We have sex with other partners. We do NOT make love to anyone else. We do NOT love anyone else but each other. However, we do have very good friends that we can hang out with and have a great time with, with or with out the sex taking place. So by your definition we would be Poly. But we do not love anyone but each other. We have swinger friends that we just hang out with and not have sex. We have B-B-Q's and let the kids play and then the next night we might all play. We exchange B-day gifts and all that jazz. We love them as friends but that is as far as it goes. In fact we have very few vanilla friends left because we get along with the lifestyle friends so much better. Please don't take that first sentence as rood, it's just that read your comment to agree with our outlook on the lifestyle but we define it differently.

Black Ring, Right Hand - How to tell if someone's a swinger - So this has been discussed a few times, but I'm surprised how few people here have heard of it..
The [b]black-ring on the right-hand[/b] has quickly become the new "standard" on how to tell if someone's a swinger in public. (No, it's not a sure-indicator, but it's gaining traction FAST in the swinger community).

Hey we got an invitation to join a site for 50 plus swingers this week. So far we don't see the need and it is probably more of a national site, and not as Utah handy as this site is, but we did think it is interesting that such a site exist. Maybe if we join we can get a discount if we belong to Triple A? We are hardly retired, so we don't have an AARP card yet. We know a couple who bought a condo in a three floor project that pretty much caters to adults, usually older adults, with no children. The husband told me there are "wife swapping couples, like 5 couples, living in the project." I asked him if that has become their new hobby and he said his wife would have none of that.
