I Don't Care if You LIKE Me... Let's F**K! (???) - - We are not a "friends first" couple but the attraction has to be there personality-wise too. We totally agree about friendships in the lifestyle. We didn't enter it to make a bunch of new friends but wow, some of our best friends are swingers. What a great, unexpected benefit!
Most of the people we are friends with we have not fucked. For some the personality attraction is there, for others the physical... and we need both. We even have some friends that are physically attractive to us, have personalities that make us very good friends, yet the sexual chemistry just seems awkward for whatever reason.
Another odd observation of ours has been that a less physically attractive person becomes very attractive an fuckable with the right personality, but a very physically attractive person is sexually repulsive to us if they are an asshole.
We have probably slept with less than 10% of our close friends in the swing community. Everyone we did play with did not end up a friend but not because we didn't like them. Sometimes it's just a matter of not having time to build a relationship and friendship not being a pre-requisite for us.

Swinging capitol of USA - What state is the Swinging Capitol of USA and why? - This site has a heavy Utah involvement but we think that there are probably more swingers in Florida in terms of actually numbers and as a percentage of the population but that is just us guessing. Back before the internet it seemed that swingers and swing clubs were more common in Orange County California and up in San Francisco. Is Las Vegas the swingers capital city? It is not a census question and nobody is really counting so who knows. It seems to us that there are very few people in Utah that identify themselves as being swingers that do not have a profile on Swingular. Utah appears to be the digital capital of Swingular! We doubt we represent a very large percentage of the states overall population but we are organized active and we are perhaps less incognito. Some of the rest of the states with Swingular members might even go so far as to say loud and obnoxious.
I wonder about where and how swinging exist in the rest of the country. Swingers at work... - - My wife and I have had much the same experience. Recently, at my work a long time swing friend of ours that we had lost touch with (moved out of state) got hired to work at my company. At first I thought it could get a bit awkward, but it is all good. Luckily, our friend is very discreet and NEVER brings up anything about it at work.
In the past, we have had to deal with the indiscreet folks that want to babble on and on about this party and who they saw there, but we haven't had to deal with that in several years which is a great thing.

Both have their advantages at times, and their disadvantages. They are separate things, not to be intertwined, as some ppl do. Just like some swingers will do only certain things, I think that poly has many different ways to make it work, you just have to find the right ppl to be in that type of relatioship with.
I would think it would be hard to combine swinging and a poly relationship, but then I have not really tried it.
