Swingers dying out? - Is the utah swinger community dying or becoming to needy? - Oh, I didn't know the OP meant this literally. Yes, we've actually seen quite a few dead and dying swingers by the side of the road especially up around Lava Hot Springs. I think it's probably something in their environment. Maybe ingesting too much nonoxynol-9 or those weird little meatballs in Crockpots you see at most swing parties. Next time we see one we're gonna take it home and try to wash some of the spooge off it's coat with some Dawn dishwashing liquid and nurse it back to health with copious amounts of Red Bull and Jager shots. We go there every now and again and we really like it. Overt public sexual activity would seem really out of place there, and it is too small to be a swingers event venue. In our experience, the clientele are mostly locals that live nearby, like we do, guest staying at the hotel next door, which are often out of town business people, conference attendees and or skiers during the winter. In our opinion, monogamy, in the classical sense, is in a gradual and consistent decline. Open and relaxed non-monogamy, as a possibility, but not really a driven hunt, but something okay, when it just seems right, is on the rise and happens. So as for takeovers, well yeah you can find people participating in the non-monogamy takeover there, but not really a swingers venue. Non-monogamy happens with couples that do not self identify as "swingers", when it just seems right. Can you meet people at Elixir and end up having sex with them? Yes you can. Yeah the hotel nearby is convenient. Elixir is not the sort of place where people ever show up ready to recite some sort of swingers pledge or ask you what's your profile name. It's not, and maybe should not be the kind of place, where you are at a table with some friends you either came there with, or just met while you were there and have somebody come up to your table and address you by your profile name and start asking what kind of sex you are into.

Cruise - pricing - You guys are really bitching about paying $2000 for two people for a 7 day lifestyle takeover cruise? I heard Utah people were cheap but come on. Let's break that down per day... $285... per couple... per day... We've been many places that aren't nearly as nice as being on a cruise with 2100 swingers and paid a lot more than that for just hotel rooms. Throw in car rental and food and you're out even more. So what if you're paying $600 more than what they charge for a regular cruise... you don't have to worry about children and you're around people you can actually have fun with. Sounds like the extra money is worth it to me. And have you ever been on ANY vacation when you fly? Add in airfare, liquor, tips and gratuities as well. You're not getting those things free on most other vacations anyways. Did you go to SwingFest? The rooms there were $300 a night! So if you can't afford this cruise, don't knock the people who put it together, we've been waiting for something like this for a long time and they deserve to make a bit of money off this because I'm sure it wasn't easy. And you're probably the ones who bitch about there never being any events or parties for lifestylers, then when someone puts one together, you bitch about it because they make a dollar for their efforts. We'll be on the cruise and we'll be glad to see those who aren't cheap on there with us.

Are we really as judgmental as vanilla people? - - Swingers are very judgemental, maybe more so than the general population. It's not just over weight people that are judged by people in the lifestyle. Single men are discriminated against daily...just because they are male. We seem to be good at grouping like people together be it sex, weight, race. People in the lifestyle sure don't hold back when it comes to discrimination.
