courtesy - dates and communication - When we started swinging there was no internet....not like today where it takes a few seconds to find someone you want to fuck and shoot off an email or a friend request. We had to find a magazine with ads for swingers (at an adult book store), write a letter, probably include a Polaroid pic with the letter and mail it and wait for a reply...which didn't always come. So I guess we kind of were conditioned to not really worry about it too much especially once internet swinging happened and it didn't take so much work to reach out. Now it takes so little effort to contact potential playmates that many people often spam out large numbers of emails in a shotgun approach or do the same with friend requests. We've, sadly, gotten to the point in our swinging career where we DON'T respond to blind friend requests or emails that are obviously sent to multiple people (no mention specifically of us or our profile). We used to respond but found that at least half the time we then got no response in return so we assumed the senders got a BBD (bigger, better deal) and were no longer interested. We really don't get our panties in a wad over it. I kind of look at it like an unsolicited spam email from someone wanting to clean my carpets. I really don't feel a great need to respond even though it would be the POLITE thing to do. HELP!!! - Need help settling a disagreement between me and the hubby. - I would again say, "That depends." We rarely hook up at parties either but it's because at this point in our swinging career we no longer feel the need/desire to fuck just to say we fucked. We're not prudes by any means but our curiosity has been more than satisfied over the years and we now only hook up with people we find a really good connection with. And we're no longer upset or disappointed when we go out and DON'T hook up, although we have been at times in the past and know quite a few couples who really feel like they've wasted their time (and maybe a good babysitter) when they don't hook up. It very much depends on who we meet at a party, how well we connect, our general mood and other intangibles. We've found that there are generally two types of swingers; those who really just want to forego all the bullshit and fuck and those who want to get to know people a little bit first (even if just briefly) before they decide if they want to fuck them. Which type you are will likely determine how often you hook up. But you know what? There isn't just one way to swing.

Being that we were at Hedo, we were obviously not afraid of offending anyone (it is Hedo after all!), but it quickly let us know what their status was. Even still, the couples we ended up hanging out the most with were non-swingers.
