Have you ever met anyone TRULY crazy in the lifestyle? - - OK so we're not overly qualified to answer, as we're quite new and haven't gotten to know anybody very well yet at all, but I do have some observations to add. Are we all nuts? NO. some are, some aren't. Many "normal" folks may think we're abnormal, crazy even. I mean, we don't exactly run around telling everybody we like to see our spouses pleasured by others, that isn't a very "Christian" or "normal" thing in society's eyes. It doesn't make us crazy. Adventurous? YES Thrillseekers? YES Different? YES Insane? NO Case in point: It's my observation that most swingers ride motorcycles. That puts them definitely in the first 2 categories. There are a ton more Bikers that are completely Vanilla and totally sane, some may say "Different" because riding isn't everybody's thing. (We're scared to death of riding, and probably never will know the serenity and enjoyment it brings most.) As far as meds go, remember this is the Zanax capitol of the world right here in the land of Zion. Not to mention the number of swinging active LDS members, other church-goers, retirees, well-paid professionals, business owners, and hard working blue collar folk. So the cross-section of society really is still there. Politics / Religion and the LS - - When you think about it, with all the major, minor, overt or unspoken, and even subconscious qualifiers and disqualifiers that people in the lifestyle use to determine who is 'fuck-worthy', it's amazing that ANYONE is having any kind of naughty swinger sex! How did you meet your mate? - - Met on the old matchmaker.com when they still had a swingers section. We were both married to other people...the swinging part did not work out for various reasons, but we decided to be friends anyway...we stayed that way for a couple of years. Just friends. Not much later we began to get to know one another much better. We fell in love despite our best intentions to remain true to our mates. We didnt cheat. We didnt lie, or sneak around on them. We just told them the truth. After a short time, we realized that the only real issue in our lives was that we were not together each day. We were making our ex's miserable, so it was time to change our lives to be together. On July 18, 2001 we moved in together. Together we are stronger than apart. Together we have moved mountains and parted seas. We have been through hell and back for each other, and I know that if I were to go again, she would be there with me all over again. Our ex's have both moved on, and even dated for a short time. They are both remarried (to different people), and very very happy. We are great friends with both of them, and see them frequently as we have children with them. Once a week we all have dinner together, drink a few beers, and talk about our kids. Professionals - - FL4FUN, I'm just stating the socio-political realities of OUR area. It's a bizarre place. My point is that nobody really cares what working class folks do around here. But 90% of folks do seem to care what you do in your spare time if you have some sort of prominence in the community professionally speaking. I don't make the rules. I just have to live by them. A lot of swingers are looking for people they actually share non-sexual interests with as well. I see nothing wrong with talking about hobbies, taste in recreational activities, etc. in a profile. It just puts more meat on the bones...helps you get a bit better idea of who a couple is.
