We heard persistent rumors that spouse-swapping and adultery is commonplace in certain suburban neighborhoods. We discovered those rumors were based on at least some truth. People told us they were being recruited -- marriage counselors say they are seeing more if it. There aren't statistics or easy answers, but it's clear the effects can be devastating. Love, commitment, holy matrimony. In Utah, where marriage vows and family values run deep. Woman: "They said it was more exciting when their spouse was involved." This story will open eyes to something many would like to keep secret. "It was taboo within their religious background." "I thought, this can't be happening here. This is Utah." Sometimes it's kept very quiet, among neighbors and friends. Other times, it's out in the open. Studies show infidelity is to blame for more than half of divorces in Utah. What we found surprised even experts. We knocked on doors, attended a party. We heard stories by phone, by email, but nothing could match what we heard in a pocket of Draper. "Something was wrong with every other neighbor in that neighborhood." Her husband's indiscretions shattered their marriage. "Intensely, intensely painful. It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life." The divorce final, he remarried one of their neighbors within a week. It seems adultery ran rampant. Up the block it was consensual with other married neighbors cheating together. People told us they moved to get away from it and stayed inside to avoid it. Across town one woman told us she just wanted to run from it: "Everyone in the room had shared their partners with everyone else in the room. These people had been married five, 10, 20 years." She and her husband were invited to a barbeque with couples from Draper, Provo, Sandy and Salt Lake. A doctor made a move. "He's hitting on me, like he's single, and his wife's sitting right there. I think, there's another motive to this party and it's not just to hang out and meet new people." They got out of there. While there's no data, experts say it's proof of a trend. Vicky Burgess/Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist: "I think, because sexual relations and sex itself is more open, I think we're seeing more of it." We found there are several parties where couples can meet. Randy Chatelain, Ph.D./ Marriage and Family Therapist: "I believe this kind of behavior is going to catch up with a couple, because where does it stop? What more do you have to involve to create the high?" Hundreds of couples pack a popular Sandy nightclub. "A lot of people nowadays have fantasies and they want to fulfill them with their significant other. This is the best way to do that." This man, who asked not to be identified, built a business, helping couples meet at parties. His website suggests spouses can be in love and still enjoy sex with others. "They figure, 'I would much rather do it with the person I love than have them do it behind my back.'" From the looks of it, he's pretty successful. He has 4,000 members living in Utah. How fast is it growing? Four years ago there were 150 members. How common is it? Posing as a married woman, we signed up on a website aimed at so-called "swingers." In six days, 70 married men, most from Utah, ask to start a fling.

Denver. what to do? - Headed to Denver next week, what must duo's are there? - I've lived on and off in Boulder/Denver for over 12 years and I can tell you the LS scene is booming! Yes, The Ranch (scarlet ranch) is great but you have to pay to get in and it's best when there's an event like NYE or a foam party (those are great!) I would get on scarletlifestyle.com, which is their companion site kind of like Swingular. There you can meet people in the area and see what events are going on at the Ranch while you're there. So the joke in Denver is...if you go to Highlands Ranch (SW Denver) and you see white rocks in the front yard then they are swingers. Denver, or to be specific, Highlands Ranch, is home to the largest swinger/lifestyle community in the country so enjoy! For fun, Shotgun Willie's (Glendale) and La Boheme (downtown Denver), both strip clubs, are fun and fillup with LSers on Friday and Saturday nights. Those damn single men! - Where do they fit in this lifestyle? - IronHorse, We've been to lots of clubs that allow single males and frankly all we ever see is the single male floating from couple to couple, striking out time after time. Honestly, we've never seen the aggressive drunk females or couples you mention. Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying we've never witnessed it. What we've seen is near eruptions from pissed of husbands who get tired of running off the unwanted single males. Do the single males get watched more by the club operators? Undoubtedly, but those few that ruin everything bring it on themselves and, by extension, others who don't deserve it. We've had to witness countless female members of couples politely try to brush off the unwanted advances until the husband is close to blowing up. If the club is ran right, the operators step in and, yes, the single male gets bounced. But, damn, he deserved it! He not only wouldn't take no for an answer from that woman, he never got a clue from the ten before her that politely blew him off. Too many single guys think women in the lifestyle are just out looking to pick up a guy and act like they are in a singles pick-up bar. They forget those women have husbands - some of whom don't even like the fact that single guys are in the place. Others may have been actively seeking a single guy until that turd walked up, grabbed a boobie, and asked the wife to fuck him then and there. That wouldn't work in a singles bar and it ain't gonna work in a swingers club. As a friend of mine is fond of saying, that dude couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with a fistful of $100 bills! But his actions then reflect on all single guys and not just in that club. How many people leave thinking that's the normal behavior of single guys - because it was all they witnessed all night long? It sure isn't fair to single guys who are good people and it creates barriers that they then have to overcome. True story here. Last time we struck up a conversation with a single guy in a club that allowed them we found him to be friendly and fun to talk with. Nothing happened but we enjoyed talking with him. Next day I'm online and here's this guy's profile. That's funny, he told us he had just flown in from San Francisco, didn't know anyone in town, happened on the club by mistake, etc,. etc. All a lie because there's his picture, he lived in town and had for quite some time, and admitted he went to the club every Saturday There was no need for him to lie at all. So why did he feel the need to do so? Got him the same treatment we reserve for couples who spend all their time trying to impress us with the "things" they own - they get blocked and ignored.

Wife's bday on 5th, suggestions? - What do you think or want to do - Not sure if this is something you would want to do, but this is what I did for my wife (ex-wife now) back in Calif. in the late 80's for our first year anniversary. I had it all planned out, keeping in mind that we had been swingers for a few years and had made a few friends...though we didn't get together with them as much as we/I wanted. Anyway, we lived about a 2 hour drive to Reno NV.. I had told my wife I wanted to take her to Reno for our 1 year anniversary and she was excited to go. I had, behind her back talked to members of this group we were in...AFF group....and when all was said and done, 3 single guys and 2 couples(not counting us) ended up there.
