Thanks. I'm totally fine with my wife not wanting to be with another man. And she's ok with me being comfortable with another woman. So, not being on the same page doesn't cause issues as much as it adds to the challenges.
Any way, I completely agree with you and TheFunCouple about meeting people in person, going to meet-and-greets, etc. That would be the best way to meet and get a feel for people. Two problems with that for us though: 1) We live in Podunk i.e., a long ways from Lifestyle events and 2) neither of us likes parties or any sort of large social gatherings. We're not hermits or socially awkward. It's just not our thing.

I'm going to disagree with you.
I speed now and then. I don't always wear my seatbelt (law here). I might even steal a grape from the supermarket when doing my grocery shopping.
But when it comes to other people, respecting them, respecting their boundaries, I am very attentive to the rules, spoken and unspoken.
I have been violated. I would never turn around and treat another in a way that I know is harmful or degrading.
I would think it is very reasonable to assume that people act like decent human beings. Swingers or not..

Question - do you talk about other swingers? - I have found that when I meet someone new for drinks or dinner etc, that a good place to start the conversation is about the site on which you met and some of your experiences there. My question is, How much, or do you talk about other members or swingers in your area. There are cult books out there that show how and why any human can get stuck in these logic loops, even if they weren't raised in the church they can get stuck in them. And its especially hard if it's something you were born into, your biological urges screaming at you to disobey it.
And the fact is the LDS church has given so many different commandments over the years that it is very hard to follow them all.
1) no pool tables
2) no playing cards
3) no rated r movies
4) may wear only 2 total earrings, but they can be 2 pearl.
5) only get a tattoo if you are polynesian and your cultural heritage commands you to get one
6) to be in a bishopric or higher, the only facial hair permitted is a neatly trimmed mustache above the lips only. May not go below the corners of the mouth.
7) girls have to wear pantyhose to church, naked legs are not allowed (bless that 70 - love pantyose)
You should really look into cult dynamics to understand how the human brain locks you into staying in a cult, especially if you were born & raised, and every family member is in it, and how it can happen to anyone of any intelligence level. And being in swinging might be a good way to help them learn to be more open in their respect for others. I know several swingers who got out of he LDS chuch by swinging.
