Swingulars Outage - What really happened - As everyone knows, our dear Swingular recently suffered an outage. It has been a painfull 5 days or so for all members of Swingular, and we wish to take a moment to console you for the pain.
OK.. Now that the moment is over, here is what happened...
As we all know, Swingular is a site that involves many people in a particular lifestyle. This lifestyle represents many \"UPs\" and \"DOWNs\", much cumming and going, a lot of flirting, a few drinks and quite often \"HARD\" times.
Well the server seems to have been taking the brunt of the abuse, expected to be \"UP\" and ready to perform at a moments notice. Not by one partner, but often by several thousands of people at the same time.
After several years af sexual gratification to so many people.. The servers \"HARD\" drive failed. It just didn\'t have what it took to get it \"UP\" one more time. It was drained, no more \"JUICE\" of life left in it. (The sticky substance was everywhere except where it needed to be.)
Yes friends, leave it to a swing site to have HARD drive failure...
To top it off, it is my estimation that someone said the wrong thing to the hard drive, for after it was replaced with a newer model, the old drive just refused to \"MOUNT\", the best I can figure is that someone, somewhere at sometime convinced the HARD drive that it wasn\'t supposed to \"SWING THAT WAY\".
Yes, we now have a failed HARD drive that refuses to MOUNT..... Only at a swingers site...

Small Town - Speak Out - We live in a small town in Texas. We have (according to the profiles on several swing sites)
about 35 swinging couples within 20 miles of us.
We are business owners in our town and have somewhat clear face shots on our profile.

Dental dam, opinions, thoughts and the like - - Been doing this north of 25 years now and have NEVER seen a dental dam used. EVER! Met all kinds of people with all levels of comfort as far as STD awareness and prevention is concerned and still no dams. I think most swingers (and the vast majority of vanilla people actually) are very good at denial. Any Sci-Fi lovers here? - What\'s to describe? Either you like a good sci fi TV series or movie or you don\'t. - I'm a voracious reader. Love most Sci Fi movies and TV(not to be confused with TV's). Love the Dr No series but several of the Dr's we not as good as others. Hated the Darlic series but liked most of the Master ones. I wonder why Heinlein's books were never made into movies most are quite good. C.S. Lewis, Athur C Clark, Asimov all super writers. Martian Chronicles, SG, SG Atlantis... Too many to mention... The day the Earth Stood Still with Michael Rennie...Rocketman Seriels in the movies from the 40's and 50's. Who remembers Rocky's Rocket Rangers from 50's TV brought to you by Ovaltine and if you sent so many jar seals into the show you could get the decoder ring for the secret messages.....
Sci Fi has been predictive of future events for so long...Lazers, Rocket ships, Rocket packs, And a statement in Forbidden Planet; " the taped thrillers of the 20th century" Filmed in Eastman Kodac color and in 1956 or maybe 65 but long before video tape was available...The special effects were awsome ...no computer generated things.... And the landing scene... note the shadow and the bubbliing earth and dust.....all hand done animation. And Robbie the robot... a mechanical wonder for it's day...

Seeking New Group Admins - Revitalize your favorite group. - As a longtime group admin I can tell you that MOST of the inactivity is usually due to lack of interest/participation/follow-thru on the part of group members. We have ACTIVELY tried to hold/host group activities MANY times over the years only to be frustrated by turnout...well, LACK of turnout.
We're not sure if it's just Swingular members, swingers in general, or just human nature but we've really gone out of our way a number of times only to be disappointed. The last time was about a year and a half ago when we tried to organize a meet and greet (we actually organized SEVERAL at different times to try to accommodate as many people's schedules as possible) so that people could meet and mingle before organizing a more ambitious activity (skiing/boarding day). Between two different meet and greets we had two couples and one single female show up. So don't necessarily blame group admins for any real or perceived staleness.

Other activities? - Do you only meet swingers for sex? - With some of the folks we have met it was sex only and the relationships didn\'t last. The couples we have met with recently have also gotten with us for other activities. They have helped us put up Christmas lights, had dinner and done a lot of other things that don\'t revolve around sex. Of course we don\'t pass up on the sex either. :-)
