Question about Spice Party tonight - - Okay, this probably sounds stupid, but we haven't ever been to a party yet! On the RSVP, do we put our screen name, or our real names on the guest list? TIA from some clueless swingers. Hehehe

Is hard core porn killing sex (and swinging)? - - So are people drinking and doing drugs more now than in the late 80's? Or are there just way more swingers and that automatically means more potential for failure?

Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - Posted By: XXXTASYX2 Reply posted on: Jan 8, 2008 - 1:39 pm AKLIM69 All I was saying is that a few bad experiences can make people NEVER want to try something. Also, there is the issue that if they are not really interested in it from square one, and there are a few bad experiences, the question people like that ask is "Why am I bothering?" Take our case for instance. We don't really desire for single males or females. Those we have played with in the past have come with baggage. So, why would we be interested in venturing into that territory? Baggage + lack of interest makes it a hard sell should some single male or female come looking.

Mormons - - the2ovus: My response to the mormon question has always been "yes, but I've never been very good at it" Both hubby and I grew up in lds homes, did what the parents wanted us too - then woke up one day as adults and realized we could actually choose for ourselves what made us happy. I don't think it's a fair judgement (then again is any judgement fair?) to look down upon Mormons who are practicing their religion and practicing in the lifestyle. Maybe they aren't very good at either one just yet! My vote is to encourage them to look within and find out what brings them true inner peace and go with it, no matter the path they choose. I've never made the connection between the couples that chat till your fingers fall off and never meet to Mormons. I think there are a LOT of scared folks.... just wish I could tell them apart! Funny thing to me is that no-one ever asks if the couples that are down south are bible bashing baptists and swingers too, just due to their location. Why is it Mormons end up looking like hypocrites when religion is in debate? *can you tell there are some Mormons in my life I love and will defend with my life?*

Rules to hooking up - -
Maybe we all ended up swingers because we don't play games. Sounds like everyone was as surprised by these revelations as we were. We are all here for the same thing, no need to dance around it.
I for one, am grateful.... I'm too lazy to try translating code... It takes up time that would be better spent actually tasting new friends.

Swingers - a couples only lifestyle? - Are singles considered to be swingers? - We don't argue that many couples enjoy MMF and FFM get togethers. We like it to! What were saying is to call yourself a swinger and be single really doesn't fit the description of being in the lifestyle.

Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - AKLIM, It's just as "rude" for you not to click "ignore single males". If you expect them all to read your profile, you take the time to read your settings thoroughly enough to see that you can block them LOL! raw statistics can be flawed. You show me stats that say today in LA, 1000 pitbulls attacked children and only 400 were committed by other various breeds. What does that tell you/me??? It says nothing of the circumstance. Were the animals mistreated and trained to attack??? How many pits are trained to fight???? Show me your stats. Stats can be skewed to fit the bias. Show me some. Maybe that is why we get hardly any single guys here. On AFF you cannot ignore them so we get them all. Here I forgot we blocked them a long time ago That is why I said that people use these statistics to JUSTIFY their opinion. I hate Pit Bulls. Wow. It is convenient for me that the CDC has that list. Now I use that list to tell you why I hate Pit Bulls. That list, in some terms, mitigates my prejudice. Now if the guy is using the statistics in an honest fashion to FORM, not justify but FORM an opinion, I might be more tempted to believe it. However, as you and I know, it is used to JUSTIFY their opinion

Lava hot springs - -
We stay in Pocatello. The drives nice enough getting there and the foods pretty good in Pocatello.
Worst advise I can think of... It defeats one of the biggest attractions of Lava, which is once you park your car for the weekend it doesn't move until you go home. I can think of few things less fun than driving 35 minutes on mountain roads after a couple of drinks at the Blue Moon or visiting Lava and being tagged the designated driver. Everyone that parties goes to the Blue Moon as that is where the fun is at in the evening. For those who have never done Lava the main attractions in the summer are tubing the river and the Blue Moon, while the main attractions in the winter are the hot springs and the Blue Moon. There are other things to do and you can mix and match, but we've found that is how our time breaks out when we're not fucking. We visit Lava 5 or 6 times a year, of those maybe two are for LS Events, two for romantic getaways and two for friends and family. Lava is known as a local Idaho and Utah swingers destination and there are many there every weekend. The problem is you need to have your meet ups scheduled before arriving as it's almost impossible to sort the LS from the vanilla on site. Risqué Soiree held an event in Lava last spring that was very fun and well attended, we hope they do it again this year. It was a great event for those new to the LS or anyone wanting to meet friends. Also because it involved both Idaho and Utah there was a lot more interaction than many meet ups where people have a tendency to group up with those they already know. Lava is one of those places you will either fall in love with and visit often, or visit once to say you have been there and done that and never return. But one thing I can promise, and that is if your room is in Pocatello you'll never understand the nuances that make Lava so charming to many. If you want big fancy hotels and everything about your visit orchestrated you would be much better advised to spend your vacation in Vegas as you will not be happy in Lava. Anyhoo... that's our two cents, your mileage may vary.

swingtown - a new show on cbs - we liked it and record it on DVR. It all looks pretty much "period" for the times. My only thought is: I wonder how many people will watch that and think they can be swingers?

Polyamory - polyanorous couples. - I have heard this type of response from almost every poly person I have talked to. This is mainly why we decided to try it, there are so many Peri's and everyone seems to be incredibly strong because of it. Of course there are down sides but what relationship doesn't have problems? Thank you everyone for your input I really appreciate it!
We have been in a Poly relationship with another couple for 2 years. There have been lots of great times and some rough times we have had to work through. It takes a completely stable marriage for the spouses and tons of open and honest communication from everyone involved. Both marriages are going on 20 yrs+ Every poly situation is different. Some have very strict rules, however we chose not to have rules. We just have mutual respect for one anothers marriages and each individual relationship between the four of us. If it ended today, I would have no regrets what so ever. Our lives have been enriched beyond belief and our marriages are stronger and happier than ever. I have learned so much about love, relationships, communication, and myself during these last couple of years and I wouldn't change a thing. We started out as Swingers and still have Swinger friends, but we are emotionally and sexually faithful to our partners. Five years ago, I could never fathom loving anyone else besides my husband. The other couple's kids are grown and we still have 2 at home. We will not tell our children the extent of our relationship with our couple until they are out of High School. Some Poly people blend homes and families. We chose not to do that, but do not judge those who do. Poly relationships are very challenging to say the least. It can be wonderful as well. Just my bit :)
