Original humans as swingers? - Provocative theories based on Bonobo sexual behavior - The author of the CNN article has co-written a book "[i]Sex at dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality[/i]" Have not read it yet, but will soon. It is interesting to see that the bonobos engage in sexual practices such as oral sex, anal sex, gay sex, and group sex, as a matter of course. Could this be the way early humans practiced their sexuality? What about pair bonding? If memory serves, from what has been observed in Emperor Penguins, they pair bond for as long as it takes to raise a chick to self-sufficiency. If the egg does not hatch, or the chick dies before then, the bond is dissolved and the two find new mates for the next season, just as when the chick is able to care for itself. Could this be the way early humans pair bonded? Would this explain the "seven year itch"? Or as Dr. Ryan says," An individual male's "parental investment," in other words, tends to be diffuse in societies like those in which we evolved, not directed toward one particular woman -- or harem of women -- and her children, as conventional views of our sexual evolution insist." Could it be that both pair bonding, and communal parenting were practiced? It seems that some societies did in fact practice some form of sexual conflict resolution, while others practiced conflict of arms. Was that an evolutional turning point? Just some questions to ponder.... Myself, I came to the conclusion that the concept of marriage as we have it originated with the agriculture , as at that time it became important to know that your possessions were going to be inherited by your offspring, independent of reading any scholarly works on the subject. So the idea that early humans lived communally and had sex communally doesn't seem too far fetched.

Curious Question - - Actually POOHBEAR... its a major secret society, (swingers), that have been practicing underground in this area, away from public opinion ever since the pioneers came west. D&D free? - is this an oxymoron? - As I've been pondering all the intriguing aspects of this new world we are entering, something doesn't mesh in my mind. We live in a nation where billions (at least multi-millions) are spent daily to advertise drugs. This is done because it enables the drug companies to make multi-billions selling drugs. You can get prescription drugs for everything from your pecker to your severe depression about your pecker! And this is only the legal/prescription drug industry - I imagine the illegal drug business is even bigger. Just exactly where do all these drugs go? I suppose a lot are consumed by folks who have minimal concerns about engaging in high risk activities? Hmmm..... swingers?nah? Fact is the math would indicate that there is a lot more coursing through the veins of just about everyone we encounter than just the good ol redwhite&blue! Same goes for disease. I don't believe the existence of most of it is caused by long-term monogamous relationships. When you are only as safe as the very last physical contact you have and you deal in a world of relative strangers, well, you get the picture. I hope these are not interpreted to be negative comments. I truly am just trying to figure out the mentality of the profiles I read. It strikes me the whole "d&d free" thing is either a formality/some sort of cover-your-ass disclaimer or just people kidding themselves.

Friend collectors or swingers - - We are play oriented for sure but appreciate there are those who are not as much and then sometimes the chemistry just isn't there for everyone. New Swingers Club in Utah - Gauging interest in new club - My answers to the questions - Yes, I would attend. Probably every couple of weeks, if not more often. I find the idea of charging more for single males to be pretty repulsive. There are single girls like me who want to go have fun and don't want to play with attached males. Charging more for single men limits my options and honestly, would keep me from going. That policy heavily favors married/attached men, as fewer single men will attend if the price is higher.

B_k_lovers - Getting over first-time jitters - ^^Most definitely Honestly, a large part of the lifestyle (in our experience) is figuring out what you want and how to communicate that with other couples. Personally, I would not just strip unless I'm sure all 4+ people are on the same page. They did a few seminars on this topic at Young Swingers Week in Jamaica last week. There were some good pointers there, such as using body language/touch (shoulder is casual, elbow is more interested, small of back is intimate) and gauging reactions. Or giving the other couple plenty of chances to say "yes" either through word or action by opening up opportunities to do so. One of the things that we like to do as a couple is invite another couple (or single friend, or small group) over to play naughty board games. Turns out you can turn any game into a strip game if you're creative enough, and that's a good way to allow people to ease into whatever their comfort level is. Every gets as naked as they feel is comfortable, then you can start swapping "favors" or "truth or dare" style challenges or whatever instead of stripping once you're as naked as you want to be.
