Nobody will be playing right there at the event, no automatic expectation that you're there to actually hook up, etc. Don't expect to NOT ever get approached by anyone, but the expectation that you're there to play, like there is at most house parties and many other swinger events, won't be the case at a Meet N Greet. You can meet and get to know people just like you would at any vanilla gathering, except that you'll know that the people you meet either are or have a desire to be in the lifestyle. As for that catch 22, don't worry about it. Yeah, hooking up with a vanilla friend or friends would likely have some impact on the friendship one way or another, likely not a good one. And it could even be dangerous, depending on how important it is to your life that people in general don't know you swing (assuming that you eventually do swing, that is). But your wife will find that ending up playing with people you've become friends with is pretty unlikely to ruin the friendship when those people are swingers.

Meeting new swingers? - Where to meet them? - You may not believe this but the food court in a shopping mall is a great place. No putting on aires, no dress up no reservations totally relaxed and neutral atmosphere and if they don't show go shopping. It really works... Discovered the idea about 3 years ago.... We generally go to a mall that is big enough to support a food court... and one that both parties know or close to one of the parties....Hey if we haven't been there before there's that many new stores for her to explore if there is a no show.. Who knows, there may be a bass pro shop or a golf shop in the mall...

There are certainly some things to look at and make sure we won't have too many problems. I think there are a number of ways to get around any issues. What happens on a private residence is up to those who own the property. I think this is one of the reasons it would have to be a private club, members only. What consenting adults choose to do isn't illegal in a venue like a club any more than it is illegal in a private residence. The trick, as I understand it, is that the venue cannot be a public venue because then you run into public exposure and indecency laws. I could be wrong, and I would have to find someone who understands these kind of laws... the question is... who would actually know... lol.
You are correct, there will certainly be some challenges, but I think they can be worked through.
As for your idea of renting a house or something like that, I have thought about the same thing and it may be a good idea. Not a fix for what is needed in a club, but it is a start.

LS vacation - looking for suggestions - We posted this the other day in another forum but thought it might help you out...
If you ever get a chance to do the Young Swingers Week at Hedo (especially in March) do it! In March they take over the entire resort and limit the guests in age and only couples...no single dudes. One member of the couple has to be 45 or under. The people that go are amazing! We made friends all over the US and Canada and have places to stay if we are travelling. Just spent Halloween in Denver with a couple we met at YSW at Hedo. They have theme nights every night, play rooms, top shelf alcohol, good (not great) food, day time activities (including free daily scuba trips if you are certified), four or five on resort restaurants (as well as the buffet), no tipping allowed and a lot more. We like spending our days layng on the beach or partying in the nude pool where you have hundreds of fully naked people around you all the time. The resort has a mandatory nude side and a clothing optional side. The resort is designed for swingers instead of just being lifestyle friendly especially when YSW takes over. It is truly an amazing experience that we highly recommend trying at least once...and once you have been, you will go back. We can not recommend it outside of YSW weeks because we have heard there can be lurking single men.
