Common Rules & Expectations
The unwritten and written rules that govern behavior at lifestyle venues.
Punti chiave
- •No means no—always and immediately
- •Never touch anyone without explicit consent
- •Phones stay away unless explicitly permitted
- •Respect couples' boundaries and dynamics
The Golden Rules
No Means No
This is absolute. A "no" at any point—before, during, or after—must be respected immediately without question, guilt, or negotiation.
Ask Before Touching
Never touch anyone without clear consent. Even in playrooms, ask before joining or touching. "May I?" is always appropriate.
No Phones in Play Areas
Phones must be put away in playrooms. Photography or recording is almost universally prohibited. This protects everyone's privacy.
Playroom Etiquette
- Don't hover or stare—it's uncomfortable
- Ask before joining any ongoing play
- If a door is closed, knock and wait for an answer
- Clean up after yourselves (wipe down surfaces, dispose of items)
- Don't monopolize spaces during busy times
- Keep voices appropriate for the space
Respecting Couples
When approaching couples:
- Speak to both partners, not just the one you're attracted to
- Take a polite "no" gracefully and move on
- Don't follow people around after being declined
- Respect that couples may be there just for each other
When in Doubt
Ask. Staff at good venues are there to help. If you're unsure about any rule or how to handle a situation, find a staff member or the host.
