I've met many a single guy who thought joining a swingers group was an easy way to get laid. And I met one last night who has been a member of swingers groups for 13 years, and has been a swinger with many of his girlfriends, even though he is single now. So is the single guy who wants to get laid a swinger? No. But the single guy who has been a member of swingers groups for 13 years and had previous been a swinger with several girlfriends.....yes I consider him a swinger.

Ebbs and Flows of Swinging - - Finding the time, or really even knowing what our schedule is, can be an obstacle. When we were young and raising five young children, we were monogamous in our marriage. We enjoyed that stage of life for more than two decades. We were perfectly happy. I don't think that if we had been swingers, we would have had the time to hook up with much frequency. Somewhere around 2004 or 2005 our offspring became old enough to require a bit more autonomy and time alone, away from home, hanging out with their friends, and so we had more time to hang out with our friends. The internet had become available and was full of sex, sex, and more sex. We became swingers, later joined this site, and we hooked up with a quite a few new and interesting people, with frequency, over the span of about a decade. We really enjoyed the variety, the adventurousness, and the intimacy. As our kids all started to become adult and started to enter into long term committed relationships and we started to become grandparents, they wanted to hang out with us a lot, and we love that. So most of the free time we used to spend swinging has reverted to family time. An honest hard look at where we are at this point of our life, and really where we have been for a while now, finds us having become swingers that only hook up maybe four to six times a year or less. We may actually be on a graceful trail that leads us back to monogamy. But not quite yet!

another club under fire - club in peoria - PEORIA -- City leaders in Peoria will soon consider an ordinance aimed at outlawing private swingers clubs where couples meet and swap partners.
The ordinance is aimed at a local business called Club 307. The club sits a couple of blocks from the Police Department and is reportedly a swingers club.
Mayor Jim Ardis told the (Peoria) Journal Star that the city doesn't have an ordinance preventing couples from paying to enter a club and swap partners. But he believes the city needs one.
City Councilman Eric Turner thinks many people are disgusted that Peoria has such a club.
Nobody answered a call to the phone number listed for the club on Friday, and there was no way to leave a message.
The council plans to consider the ordinance Tuesday.

KSL swing story - - I wouldn't say that, Rob. They did a piss-poor job of bluring out "Spice" on the party ticket and had a pretty good shot of the intro page and Swingular is #4 on the sponsored links if you do a Google search for "swingers and Utah". It won't be hard to find. I'd recommend disabling the "Swingers in your area" part of the intro page for a while.
The root of it is that this story is about cheating, not swinging. All it talks about is married men cheating with their neighbors and looking for sex online all the while making helpless victims out of women. That has nothing to do with swinging, that is plain old fashioned cheating on your spouse. But the slant KSL put on it to make something out of a non-story is interesting. It gives great fuel for the gossip in the Relief Society and Priesthood meetings.
What's interesting about this also is, I read somewhere once that although less then 1% of the general population actually does swing, as much as 40% of people fantasize and talk about it with their spouse. Hypocrites.
