Kitten160 - Threats - The virtual world allows people to do a bit of vetting before they agree to meet someone in the physical world and there are some advantages to that. Having a profile is a bit like fishing for friends. Sometimes the online bait looks pretty good. The downside is that anyone with a credit or debit card can buy a membership. Predators (sexual sharks) have bank accounts, credit cards, debit cards and such. If sexual predation is his or her motive of course a sexual predator would buy a membership on a swing site. Online can be like a shark cage. Sexual predators can see us, but they can't bite us unless we leave the cage. The more aggressively they attack the cage the more dangerous they must be. We hold off on phone numbers until we feel pretty comfortable. Back before the social media explosion the only way to get know about, let alone get invited to a swinger's meet and greet was to be invited by someone already involved, and usually they had to get your attendance approved, by the organizer, before the invent. So there was some added layers of protection, that were not fool proof, but often effective. Basically, people did or didn't know much about what's going on or who might be involved on the weight of their reputations. Really a good or bad reputation will still affect who you will meet or who you will connect with even today. There may well be some real legal ramifications involved for the administrators to allow a public trashing of someone's reputation, because the accusations might be true and they might be slander. What is and will always remain appropriate is to tell all your friends and acquaintances within the lifestyle about anyone you know for certain is dangerous. With all of that said, having been involved in the community for awhile, and yes we used to attend the big events from time to time, we have to say that the vast, vast, vast majority of the people we have met have been good people. Yes there have been good people we didn't see eye to eye with, and yes there have been just a few awkward moments, but still we have found that most of the swingers in the community are good people. As for the sexual sharks circling around the community, even though they may know more than we would like about where we are swimming, we can and should be protective of one another and let each other know when they are getting too close.

Original humans as swingers? - Provocative theories based on Bonobo sexual behavior - The author of the CNN article has co-written a book "Sex at dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality" Have not read it yet, but will soon. It is interesting to see that the bonobos engage in sexual practices such as oral sex, anal sex, gay sex, and group sex, as a matter of course. Could this be the way early humans practiced their sexuality? What about pair bonding? If memory serves, from what has been observed in Emperor Penguins, they pair bond for as long as it takes to raise a chick to self-sufficiency. If the egg does not hatch, or the chick dies before then, the bond is dissolved and the two find new mates for the next season, just as when the chick is able to care for itself. Could this be the way early humans pair bonded? Would this explain the "seven year itch"? Or as Dr. Ryan says," An individual male's "parental investment," in other words, tends to be diffuse in societies like those in which we evolved, not directed toward one particular woman -- or harem of women -- and her children, as conventional views of our sexual evolution insist." Could it be that both pair bonding, and communal parenting were practiced? It seems that some societies did in fact practice some form of sexual conflict resolution, while others practiced conflict of arms. Was that an evolutional turning point? Just some questions to ponder.... Myself, I came to the conclusion that the concept of marriage as we have it originated with the agriculture , as at that time it became important to know that your possessions were going to be inherited by your offspring, independent of reading any scholarly works on the subject. So the idea that early humans lived communally and had sex communally doesn't seem too far fetched.

Why are there so many swingers from Utah? - - WELL whatever the reason it was great idea for swinging fantics.........WV jON.....LOL

Polyamory - polyanorous couples. - We have been in a Poly relationship with another couple for 2 years. There have been lots of great times and some rough times we have had to work through. It takes a completely stable marriage for the spouses and tons of open and honest communication from everyone involved. Both marriages are going on 20 yrs+ Every poly situation is different. Some have very strict rules, however we chose not to have rules. We just have mutual respect for one anothers marriages and each individual relationship between the four of us. If it ended today, I would have no regrets what so ever. Our lives have been enriched beyond belief and our marriages are stronger and happier than ever. I have learned so much about love, relationships, communication, and myself during these last couple of years and I wouldn't change a thing. We started out as Swingers and still have Swinger friends, but we are emotionally and sexually faithful to our partners. Five years ago, I could never fathom loving anyone else besides my husband. The other couple's kids are grown and we still have 2 at home. We will not tell our children the extent of our relationship with our couple until they are out of High School. Some Poly people blend homes and families. We chose not to do that, but do not judge those who do. Poly relationships are very challenging to say the least. It can be wonderful as well. Just my bit :)

Swinging and LDS... - Are the two compatible? I know this is a huge can of worms... -
I find puzzling the judgment of others by those that seem so adept at mental contorsions as some of these people have clearly perfected.
There are cult books out there that show how and why any human can get stuck in these logic loops, even if they weren't raised in the church they can get stuck in them. And its especially hard if it's something you were born into, your biological urges screaming at you to disobey it. And the fact is the LDS church has given so many different commandments over the years that it is very hard to follow them all. 1) no pool tables 2) no playing cards 3) no rated r movies 4) may wear only 2 total earrings, but they can be 2 pearl. 5) only get a tattoo if you are polynesian and your cultural heritage commands you to get one 6) to be in a bishopric or higher, the only facial hair permitted is a neatly trimmed mustache above the lips only. May not go below the corners of the mouth. 7) girls have to wear pantyhose to church, naked legs are not allowed (bless that 70 - love pantyose) You should really look into cult dynamics to understand how the human brain locks you into staying in a cult, especially if you were born & raised, and every family member is in it, and how it can happen to anyone of any intelligence level. And being in swinging might be a good way to help them learn to be more open in their respect for others. I know several swingers who got out of he LDS chuch by swinging.

Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - Posted By: TEQUILAROSE Reply posted on: Jan 8, 2008 - 4:33 pm I have a question for those of you that allow single females and not single males. You could use the they "bring nothing to the table" argument as well. After all, many of them don't want to play with the male half. =D= Well, here is our take on it. BTW, we don't play with single anythings. If we know you well enough and say one of you is going thru our state, we don't mind playing with you as a single provided we know your other half won't mind. Played with a single girl who turned out to be in a possessive relationship. Ditch the bitch was the operation that followed. Anyways, with a single girl, lets say she only wants to play with the lady. Guys are fine with it since they can watch 2 girls go at it.

Have you noticed? - Admin. doesn't give a SHIT!!! - In our humble opinion, Kasidie is a much better website. But,Swingular has traditionally been the site for Utah. However, we have noticed a significant increase of Utah swingers now joining Kasidie, which will probably continue.

Couples Oasis in Vegas - - Have been.. wasn't impressed. Felt like the kind of place you might get herpes just by sitting on a chair. Hosts were very friendly, crowd was older ... didn't see any couples there we would have rated over a "4 / 10". Stayed about 30 minutes and left. Honestly, swingers clubs in vegas are not good... the tourist atmosphere lends itself to people just trying to make money... they don't have to create a quality product to get people to pay big bucks. Save your moeny. When talking about vegas clubs, you'll find that most people over 60 speak fairly positively about them... most people under 40 won't go anywhere near them.... That should tell you something.
