There are dangerous Pitbulls, just as there are dangerous German Shepards and Golden Retrievers. It does not make it right to assume all are just because some are. Pitbulls are not the "most dangerous" breed by nature. The have a higher risk of attack, because many people mistreat them because of how they fight. Mis/Disinformation, ignorance and insecurity is what perpetuates intolerance Again, you are right. However, there are those that will cite raw statistics to JUSTIFY their opinion instead of trying to FORM an opinion.

We have heard about it many times........... - Couples that are swingers - Queen, unfortunately your experience isn't so unique. There are a fair number of people who are curious about the lifestyle and in their haste for some experience, neglect to mention whatever hangups they might have. People fear that if they don't throw in the obligatory "we're fun, open minded, and drama free" statement in their profile they'll appeal to a more narrow range of couples and it will take longer to have a first experience. These people aren't always prepared for what's going to happen and I guess they just *hope* everything will work out okay - a very vulnerable state of mind. This is why there are a few questions I try to harp on numerous times before meeting a couple regardless of what their profile states: Are you D&D free, herps free, what are your boundaries, is kissing okay, etc, because most peoples' knee jerk response is going to be the answer that they know is "correct" but not necessarily true. The key is to ask multiple times, because some people aren't likely to be honest until they understand that you're working in their best interest. Still, there are some people who will deliberately lie no matter what; there's not much that can be done for them. :! Hopefully your first bad experience will be your last. Good luck!

Ft Myers, FL - HELP!!! - Craigslist is local down there. MAGNETIC is right, after being laid off after 7+ years at my old job due to the economy, it was very difficult to find a new FULL time job that paid anything more than $8 an hour. I just moved AWAY from Fort Myers in June due to the unemployment rate, it's a tourist spot. I hope you have a job lined up...it's tough down there however it is beautiful in areas and the beach is nice (just don't go during spring break LOL). Political Forum - POLL: Should we bring it into the rotation? - I think its quite cool that a rather large group of people find relatively common interests about sexual openness, sexual play, sexual fantasy etc... it's really cool that we share such an uncommon attitude about sex and yet we have such diverse opinions about Politics (and Religion) etc. Fascinating. Years ago before I knew anything about or anyone involved in swinging I would have guessed that there would have been a more common social thread among swingers but as was mentioned before, its probably a pretty good cross section... So, it seems to me that if we are trying to connect at a fun playful sexual level the last thing we would want to do is find ways to disagree and reasons to disconnect from people by having a special "top five" forum category that is one of the 2 most divisive topics on the planet. It's tough enough to find couples that we connect with at enough levels to be play-friends. So, I'd say, there are plenty of other places to fight about politics (or religion), we don't need it here and since you are asking for opinions here's mine: If you leave it in there will be some well thought out points made but it will be a source of argument, anger, and name calling... we've seen it before, just like anywhere else, people get ugly here too. If you take it out only a few will miss it. There are other places, plenty of them, to debate the un-win-able debates. This is a play place, a fun safe place to escape the mundane and intolerant mainstreamers. We don't need to create ways to find intolerance and anger within this community too. I want to know how sexy and fun you are not what your politics are... Single females profile... "but not" - - At the risk of taking this even further off topic...I look at honesty the same way I look at sin (not that I believe in the concept of sin). Observing and talking to my neighbors I've discovered that the majority have little "pet" sins that they unilaterally seem to deem more important to avoid than other sins. Some of my neighbors would never consider shopping on Sunday but don't have a problem working in their yards in rather skimpy (for them) attire during the summer. Others seem adamant that church attendance is more than mandatory but have no problem hitting Chuck A Rama after church. Still others are devout temple goers yet have confided that they have a single glass of champagne on New Years Eve. Honesty, to me, appears very similar. I know many swingers who are less than honest about their weight and/or age yet really seem to get upset if someone is less than honest about their relationship status. Still others state they are disease and drug free and demand the same in others yet I've seen them with cold sores (yup that's HSV people) and regularly partake in pot or use illegally obtained erection enhancing drugs. Honesty, like many things in life, is apparently quite flexible and indeed seems to be a matter of perspective. ps- Not bashing, insinuating or otherwise making any kind of judgment about the OP's or anyone else in this thread. Just some general observations.
