Obama's Roadtrip - -
Fair enough. Then why rely on them for anything that likely wasn't adequately studied?
Likely just does not do it for me...When the numbers are given AND shown how they were gathered, I tend to believe they are fairly accurate.
Let's take your Pepsi/Coke example. There is likely nothing befuddling about your scenario. Just one possibility: Where are the two Florida products bottled? Maybe it's the water.
Both bottled locally, it is chalked up to being a preferance thing. In WI, lived there for a while, it was called pop or soda, unless a VERY specific thing was needed, a Mountain Dew for instance. In the south, it is a Coke no matter what it is. If someone in the south offers a Coke, it could be Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Diet Rite, Sam's Club Soda, etc.
I'm glad you agree with the logic. My Bachelor's is in Social Welfare (Psych Minor). Human nature is only a bitch of a thing when you get out there a few standard deviations. The bulk of us are as predictable as rats.
Believe it or not, I have 2 BA's (econ and int. rel.) with a minor in social work. So I am very aware of social science standards and SOME believe that we're predictable. If you have a smaller sample, we are fairly predictable, especially when the sample is taken from a specific group of people (swingers for instance, better yet, swingers in a specific region), once you get to the larger populations (nationwide for instance), human behavior is not easily quantified.
Try being the ONLY conservative in all the social work classes, it was fun!
Then again, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
I propose that as an economist you are simply looking at things with a limited perspective.
Possibly, but I also have a rare ability to look at it from an outsider's view....
There is simply no question that if a person's basic needs (food and shelter) are met, there is less motivation to risk the consequences of violating societal rules.
I can see the logic of this, however, we are Americans, we always want MORE, we are constantly bombarded with images of MORE, we are constantly told that without MORE we are incomplete, etc.
What are the consequences of violating societal rules?
Food, shelter, clothing, TV, etc? Really tough there.
Look at prisons in Mexico, if your family does not provide, you starve, more than likely. THAT is consequences, it is a deterrant (sp?).
IMHO, one of the reasons for our increased crime rates is the lack of public punishment. If every time you turned around, you saw a group of people in black and white stripes mowing lawns, trimming trees, etc. on the side of the road in leg chains, it would cut crime considerably. If they did public executions, it would cut crime dramatically.
Then again, I am a staunch supporter of heavy penalties for crimes, especially when they are repeat offenders, most of the social scientists are not. They want more rehab and such, which I also support, BUT only for first timers, not for repeat offenders.
Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying our debate...
Kirkland, Washington - - We are taking a quick trip to Kirkland on July 9th! Any info on swingers or clubs in that area would be great!!
Invatation to swingers. - open letter against Dr. Phil - At least Dr. Phil only says it's wrong. Dr Laura would call you a slut and a whore and say you were going to hell. They're all a bunch of tight ass, bastards who have no idea what the lifestyle is all about and who spend all there time and make a pile of money telling other people how to run their lives. Fuck them all. ( I bet Dr. Laura gives great head after she's had a drink or two)
The only problem... - - What really amazes me is how many people are 69. We belong to this and a few other sites and there are TONS of couples who are EXACTLY 69 years old. What are the odds?!!? Must be like THE sweet spot (age wise) for swinging. ;-)
So do old swingers get like a swinging pension when they retire? Is there an AARP for old swingers? Can you get a Jazzie with a Sybian attachment on the seat?
Sex drive!! - My wife has a extremely high sex drive -
My wife has a very high sex drive we have only had 3 somes with women which she and I love but I was wondering if I should include more sex driven men in our sex life to totally fulfill her needs ?
It works for us! It will certainly work for you two! Good hunting! Men, women, and couples, and all ethnic origins are all good for us. There are so many hot people and so little time to play with them. We go out of our way to reach out try it all with open arms so long as people are healthy and nice and there is some attraction. We are going to get the equal opportunity logo tattooed on our butts. Be careful, some old school right wing swingers might question your husbands
Defuniak Springs, FL (3/16 - 3/18) - Diving this weekend - No, not much in Defuniak to do, but you are only about 40 miles from Panama City Beach, where you can find much to do, including fellow swingers. vortex is extremely cold, if you have not been, so be prepared. Great dive and the caves are awesome, some of the best fresh water diving around..........Have fun, and stay safe.........Timeshare01
Oh for fuck's sake! - Really? - It's not enough that gonorrhea and syphilis is making a 'cum'back? Now we've got a NEW STI to worry about? Take me now, Jeebus! [em]Emo_79[/em]
New sexually transmitted disease scares the actual fuck out of Utah swingers and other perverts :-p
anyone doing something fun - - Well now that the Corporation of the President of the LDS Church and Taubman Centers, Inc have pretty much finished the City Creek Center in a bid to take back downtown Salt Lake from all the liberal forces that started to surround Temple Square and all the big box stores have moved to City Creek in an affirmation that corporate America and foreign sweat shop manufacturing are what Jesus would do, it is only appropriate that middle aged swingers start to use the fountains where children used to play as a vehicle for endless wet tee shirts. Maybe we should plan a meet and streak through the Gateway
Been Druged? - Ever think you've been slipped something - With all these anecdotes I'm starting to wonder if drugging people is that ubiquitous. A number of years ago we went to Vegas and went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. We started the evening at a restaurant that had been converted, so to speak, into a meet and greet swing club that night. We were a little surprised at the number of cute young couples in attendance and later invited a number of them back to our friend's suite to party. Once we got back a few couples went into the bedroom and started playing. The people we invited stayed out in the common area and we asked them if they were new and unsure about playing. They responded that they were not swingers but went to many swing parties as they perceived swingers as being accepting of their club drug usage. They then proceeded to sit around the rest of the night doing and discussing different drugs and dosages. It was a little surreal. At one point I sat down and talked to them about drugs and swinging and crashing a swing party. They got a little confrontational and during the conversation mentioned that they could very easily slip something in my drink that would be entirely undetectable. At that point Ms. Evil and I basically just left. We decided after talking to these people to always watch our drinks very carefully any time we were in any sort of unfamiliar surroundings or situations.
Moving - - I am seriously thinking I should move to Utah. Without going into a long discriptive reason why. And if you have read some of my posts you'ld know why. Untop of the fact that Ytah seems to be full of swingers that are healthy. I can't seem to find work in my home area of PA. You would think that a 30 year old cook, with ServeSafe and Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Food Safety and Laboritory Services certifications. Would be able to find a job real easy. And I have seen people get promoted to resaurant management for a lot less. In fact I worked at a Chi-Chi's a couple years back. And was asked to train for management by the district and regional managers. While I was training one of the pot head cooks got his waitress girl friend pregnant. They promoted him as soon as they found out. Maybe, I'm not getting the jobs I want because I'm open about swinging. Add to that I am 30 years old and single. Maybe I'm single cause I'm open about swinging. Eitherway I am in a bad situation and it needs to change. Pretty soon the bank is going to reposess my truck. And that will leave me screwed.
