There are MANY intections that can be spread sexually that one wouldn't normally consider an STD. Sorry, don't mean to shit in your Cheerios but far too many of us have a severe case of cognitive dissonance when it comes to STI's in the lifestyle. Friend collectors or swingers - - Right now we are standing down. Sometime next year, we will be on the prowl. When we first started swinging, we would meet a couple, or sometimes a single someplace public. If we found that we shared some commonality, attraction, chemistry and trust, we sometimes moved the encounter someplace private. A few people still live somewhat nearby. While all of this was happening, several of our kids got married, became parents, and our social lives became mostly time spent with family. We aren’t complaining. Swinging just sort of moved to a back burner. At first, after our first real encounter, we hooked up maybe six or seven times every month. Our kids were at that stage in life where they needed more autonomous time away from home with friends, and so we had more time to play with friends too! OK LETS BE HONEST - - We got into the lifestyle because my wife was bi but didn't want to admit it to herself. Raised Catholic and it would be a mortal sin?????? The lifestyle has made her more open to herself and freer, more able to talk about sexual things. Are we really as judgmental as vanilla people? - - Yes, unfortunately some swingers are as judgemental or even worse than our vanilla counterparts. After taking a break for some time, Jen and I decided to get back in the swing of things. We have recently moved from California to Ohio due to me (Mike) being in the military. Strangely enough, we have found more judgemental people out here than were in CA.
