OUCH - Anyone caught swinging bu family or friends? - Ran into Ms. Evil's cousin a few years ago. Were invited to an annual bbq non-swing party by a couple who WERE swingers but they said even though all vanilla sometimes the party could got quite steamy. Turns out the cousin was a FWB of the hosts since high school and frequently joined them for sex. Of course the host instantly wanted to play kissing cousins with Ms. Evil and her cousin but she had sobered up enough by then to not want to go there. Still see the cousin every so often and though nothing was ever mentioned we all know...LOL

I Have A Question - Poly vs. Open - Most of the people we know, who self define as polyamorous, are really interested in something akin to a romance, with some level of commitment. Obviously, we don't know all that many poly people. In the double digits, not even the triple digits, and, most of them already knew each other before we met them. Like swingers, the people we know share a sense of some sort of group identity, and group activity. We have been to a few events a few years back and felt pretty welcome, albeit, we are not exactly on the same page. We were upfront about it. Nice people! It's a pretty small sampling, so it should be taken as an anecdotal, rather a description of the way it really is, or should be. We want to avoid labeling a whole group. Open marriages. Most of the people we know who self identify as in open marriages, seem to be in one committed relationship, which often includes children, shared bank accounts, all the trappings of a vanilla relationship, and closed in those aspects of life, but as a pair, they have each others blessings, to have sexual affairs and romantic relationships, with other people, that really don't have to include their primary partners presence. Most of the people we know, that self identify, individually, and as a couple, as in an open marriage, started out swinging as a couple. Swingers scene is the closest thing to a group that they may move in as a collective. We are somewhat in this category. We tend to only take the relationship to this level when one of us has an especially strong connection with someone. Here again this is an anecdotal accounting based on just the people we know.

tired of the B>S> - - u know, i don't think we're validated or certified or whatever they call it here on this site. we've been on so many it's hard to keep track. anyway, we're very real and we just don't give a hoot about validations anymore. i guess u could say we've progressed thru maslow's hierarchy of needs for swingers to the self-actualized phase. that's a clever way of saying we no longer give a rat's ass what other people think. ;) we've been swingers since 2003, and we really only went to a lot of parties and sought out new experiences with regularity for the first 2 years. now it's just another "thang" we dabble in from time to time when the mood hits us...mostly on vacation, weekend getaways, and stuff like that. and we really have no ego stake in how many unsolicited emails we do or don't get from people asking us to hook up or inviting us to parties. if we get the itch, we'll look around, find something that piques our curiosity, and send them a message. it's all really no big deal. and we have found that folks who get wrapped around the axle about this stuff are not the kind of folks we want to hang out with anyway.

Swinger cruise - YOLO cruise on Carnival Legend (April 26th) - BEACHWITHUS We know exactly how you feel. Funny how rules begin to change after people have paid their money. We had friends that went on the Nudist Cruise on the same ship, the Carnival Legend, a couple of years ago. They said you could be nude anywhere except the main dining room. And as soon as the ship left the various ports you could be nude again...meaning nudity was allowed every evening. Question for those in the lifestyle - What is the answer! - Why would you envolve me in your problem. I am not a part of it. But, if I have sex with you and you get caught, I am part of a bigger problem that has just been created. NO THANK YOU! You don"t belong in the lifestyle under these circumstances. (By the way this is the M half, but we both feel the same about this) My wife and I were Soft Swingers for about 8yrs before she decided to go the full swap route. She is happy with her decision to do so, and enjoys the fun WE are having now. I would have liked to have got to this point a lot sooner and had often encouraged her to go for it. She told me several times, it would be alright for me to have sex with someone else if I really wanted too. There was no way I would take that chance of messing up the good thing we had. Neither of us had ever cheated on each other. This doesn't make us goody-two-shoes. It did build a trust which makes it posible for us to share the benefits of this lifestyle with confidense in each other, now. We feel Trust and Honesty are two things that have to exist if you are going to enjoy the swinging as a couple. Sorry to hear about your situation, but we could not solve your problem if we were to play with you, only possibly make it worse. Thats just the way it is for us. I feel some of the suggestions offered in the previous post may be your best route to go.
