I kind of thought to each their own was the point. I wish I had followed my gut and not responded to your post. I will not make that mistake again. Utah is so unique compared to other states, especially when it comes to situations like swinging. Swinging in Utah - What makes A Pretty Great State a great place to swing? - So I could be totally wrong about why I think Utah is right up there (at least considering our relatively modest population) with many places that are much more...well let's just say cosmopolitan. Thought an informal little poll would be fun to get some feedback as to why others think the lifestyle scene is so active here in Zion.
1) It's all the warm sunny weather and sexy, sandy beaches.
2) Something in the water...other than fluoride.
3) It's rebellion from the influence from the LDS church.
4) A younger population equals more hormones and horniness.
5) The high alcohol beer makes us lose our inhibitions quicker.
6) Utah is no different than any other place as far as the number of swingers, etc..
7) It's so cold here we have to swing to stay warm.
8) We're wired for swinging because of our ancestors and their polygamy.
9) We grew up reading Prayboy and Repenthouse so we're just bundles of hormones waiting to burst!

What is it to being a swinger couple - Is it always this way - When you hook up with a couple, you are hooking up to the part of their life they in general want to keep secrete. They don't want you as friends that will filter into their everyday normal life. And there is always times where you know the other couple are great people, but the sex just was not that good. Most all sex is fun, but some sex is way better. You have to be able to sep real life friends and sex friends, its not often they mix well. People have their family, jobs and life in general to protect and don't want you close to any of it or should I say will risk having you close to it. It's not personal, it's reality and swinging is fantacy and you were a booty call. If you find true friends, generally the playing stops. Viewers = ratings = being attractive to potential advertisers and being able to charge more per second for advertising = more profit. It has nothing to do about reality. That is why the story was so poorly researched and produced. It was not an attempt at doing a real story but rather to do something all the other channels aren't. The truth is far less interesting then the story they created about how swingers lure unsuspecting faithful Mormon men into a seedy underworld of sex and decption, leaving victims of their poor innocent wife and kids.
I said it before, they went into this having already decided what the story was going to be before they even put film in the camera, all they needed was a few juicy quotes to take out of context to support the story they had already written in a production meeting months ago. This is why posts that would be pro-lifestyle are being moderated off their message board: they do not support the story they are trying to present. Everybody loves a scandal, especially those with nothing better to do then judge others to make themselves feel better about their miserable, lonely, boring little lives.
It has already blown over to the point of not being on the front page of their website.
