Most of us are TERRIBLY bad at risk assessment and more often than not we fear things that are statistically FAR less likely to happen than things we don't seem to fear all that much. Some people won't fly in planes even though they are FAR less likely to die in a plane crash than driving their car to Walmart. And many swingers are deathly afraid of getting AIDS even though it's really quite hard to contract compared to, say, HSV, which most adults have actually already been exposed to. Identifying why you're intimidated might be a better use of your time than trying to find a needle in a haystack.
But in the end, do what you're comfortable doing. If you think finding another newbie couple is the least intimidating way to dip your toes in then, by all means, do that. Those of us who have been around the scene for a while, however, could tell you some of the drawbacks to meeting people who are newbies.
Personally, we would seek out a more experienced couple, albeit one who is NOT pushy and is willing to go at your pace and is looking for friendship more than sex. Summer Vacation>>>ALASKA??? - Our Swingers Week in Alaska is back!!!! - We operate a fishing (camp) guide service in Alaska during the summer months.
In years past we have set aside a week during the season for all of our lifestyle friends to come up and experience the Great Outdoors of Alaska.
We have set the dates: July 3rd through July 10th
While the fishing at this time is not the greatest, I need not tell you not much fishing gets done anyway!!!
You will stay at our Fish Camp, breakfast and dinners provided, all equipment provided and we always have a great time!!!
We limit the number of people to 5 couples or 10 people...we do have a few couple that come down from Anchorage to also take part in the fun.

What was your favorite LS experience? - So far.... - We are not sure what our favorite experience has been thus far. Here is a brief description of one experience that is interesting. A few years back, we met with two very attractive couples, in a hotel room near the airport. The two women that were part of the other two couples, were both, very, very attractive blondes and also happen to be twin sisters. Well that does not happen every day! The sex was pretty great!!
Small group hook ups, where everyone knows everyone, and there is shared chemistry are always great, and we have been fortunate enough to experience that quite a few times, with more than a few different groups of people. Two on two couples hook ups can be sooooo fulfilling too! So are threesomes! So are the occasional hall pass encounters. People get job transfers and move away, or go through other changes, or schedules just don't agree and life moves on, and circumstance change. Do you mix your vanilla and lifestyle friends? - - We tell anyone who is a late night friend, ie: serious friend, vanilla or not that we have an alternative lifestyle. It has made things so much easier. Our vanilla friends are closer. We make it very clear that we don't have any interest in sex with them for concerns about ruining what is a already a good relationship. I am not talking, work vanillas, they don't need to know. I am talking about people with whom we go dancing or bar hopping. Why lie about who you really are? The whole reason for jumping the hurdle that is the "lifestyle" is to be free with who you really are. Then you are supposed to hide it with people who are supposed to really care about you? Nope.
Because of this, it is really cute when we throw a party or get together. The vanillas spend the whole time excitedly trying to guess who the swingers are. Most of the time it doesn't take much to guess. This reminds me of what got us started on this course. We threw a mostly vanilla roller skating party with some vanilla friends. They invited a whole bunch of people and we invited a whole bunch of people. We invited 3 couples who were swingers who did not know or probably didn't care to hide what they were. The vanilla couple invited once swinger couple totally unaware that they were swingers. We got very outed that night. lol It went really well so it carried over as a "good idea".
