Hanging out this weekend - Habits tonight?? -
We enjoy it if there is a couple we are interested in they have sections that aren't so loud that you can talk. But yes it is loud. And we have run into lots of swingers there lots of times. But I hear that a lot I think most people don't talk to people or just walk up to a stranger(s) and say hi. But I the male half does a lot that's how you meet people and then once you chat a bit it comes out that they are swingers. Not a big fan of he meet and greets it's always the same people unfortunately. And that's great for some but we haven't really made a connection at any that we have been too, yet.
We have been to the meet and greets too and we don't go very often and have not been to one in ages. Maybe twice a year we hit one but when we do go we pretty much introduce ourselves to everybody and if we missed someone we didn't mean to. You do have to be proactive to be successful in meeting people or at least reactive in a positive fashion when someone interesting approaches you. We have been to Habits and ended up leaving with someone, but we had already had a bit of friendly back and forth somehow with the people we left with or it was someone we met previously and had at least chatted a bit. We think we have only been there maybe five times altogether. Well, maybe Mr. Delicious will put on a collared shirt just in case we head that way but for now we are thinking maybe the Green Pig sounds fun.

Obama's Roadtrip - -
Fair enough. Then why rely on them for anything that likely wasn't adequately studied?
Likely just does not do it for me...When the numbers are given AND shown how they were gathered, I tend to believe they are fairly accurate.
Let's take your Pepsi/Coke example. There is likely nothing befuddling about your scenario. Just one possibility: Where are the two Florida products bottled? Maybe it's the water.
Both bottled locally, it is chalked up to being a preferance thing. In WI, lived there for a while, it was called pop or soda, unless a VERY specific thing was needed, a Mountain Dew for instance. In the south, it is a Coke no matter what it is. If someone in the south offers a Coke, it could be Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Diet Rite, Sam's Club Soda, etc.
I'm glad you agree with the logic. My Bachelor's is in Social Welfare (Psych Minor). Human nature is only a bitch of a thing when you get out there a few standard deviations. The bulk of us are as predictable as rats.
Believe it or not, I have 2 BA's (econ and int. rel.) with a minor in social work. So I am very aware of social science standards and SOME believe that we're predictable. If you have a smaller sample, we are fairly predictable, especially when the sample is taken from a specific group of people (swingers for instance, better yet, swingers in a specific region), once you get to the larger populations (nationwide for instance), human behavior is not easily quantified. Try being the ONLY conservative in all the social work classes, it was fun! Then again, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
I propose that as an economist you are simply looking at things with a limited perspective.
Possibly, but I also have a rare ability to look at it from an outsider's view....
There is simply no question that if a person's basic needs (food and shelter) are met, there is less motivation to risk the consequences of violating societal rules.
I can see the logic of this, however, we are Americans, we always want MORE, we are constantly bombarded with images of MORE, we are constantly told that without MORE we are incomplete, etc. What are the consequences of violating societal rules? Food, shelter, clothing, TV, etc? Really tough there. Look at prisons in Mexico, if your family does not provide, you starve, more than likely. THAT is consequences, it is a deterrant (sp?). IMHO, one of the reasons for our increased crime rates is the lack of public punishment. If every time you turned around, you saw a group of people in black and white stripes mowing lawns, trimming trees, etc. on the side of the road in leg chains, it would cut crime considerably. If they did public executions, it would cut crime dramatically. Then again, I am a staunch supporter of heavy penalties for crimes, especially when they are repeat offenders, most of the social scientists are not. They want more rehab and such, which I also support, BUT only for first timers, not for repeat offenders. Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying our debate... Next!

Where did it go? - - OMG....some of you amuse me. You've totally missed the point of this thread. It had nothing (as in nada, zero, zilch) to do with altruism and humanitarian efforts to relieve and help those in need from either economic misfortune or environmental disaster. Where along the lines was that miscommunicated? So please, for the love of GOD and everything holy...let's spare everyone the sappy and teary-eyed proverbial "Hero Story" of how swingers flock together to help the less fortunate. Yes, yes...I know that there have been some marvelous demonstrations of compassion, and that so-called "brotherly christian love" towards fellow-swingers, that we have all seen posted on the threads numerous times, and that's all good and I'm sure Jesus is happy about that....but trust me, that was in no way the intention of this thread. I should know, I originated it. :) This was a wholly tongue-in-cheek thread, meant to draw an amusing glance at a previously deleted thread that involved an "offer" of exchanging manual labor for sex. An offer of prostitution. Not a friend asking a friend for help to re-roof their house. If you want to revel in the friendship and altruism of your fellow swingers....please, start your own damned thread, and quit hijacking this one! :) J

Girls that are into DP - How common is this activity among the swingers? -
Mmm I love DP! Only had the opportunity a couple times but want to again and again and again... never tried DVP except with my man and a toy but I would LOVE to. Same thing with DA. My man is pretty secure and doesn't care much as long as I'm satisfied :) Man I'm a lucky girl!
k, I'm thinking you might want to change the gender on your profile....

Hot wife - -
"My Saturday job involves quite a few liberal athletic co-workers..." Damned socialist swingers wanting FREE sex handouts!
Pounding snowflake pussy rocks!
