Where are the Midwest Swingers? - - I agree. It is almost impossible to find anyone from Illinois or Missouri in the chat rooms, let alone anyone that wants to chat with a single male. Everyday I go into the chat hoping that there is someone local to chat with, and come up empty. I do value the chats that I have with other members from the western and southern states, but it is so hard to find a topic to talk about in detail besides sports, the weather, or the economy. Most people dont come in here to chat about how cold it is outside.
Polyamory anybody? - - Not all polyamorous people are swingers, and not all swingers are given to polyamory. Some are naturally inclined to enjoy both alternatives. Perhaps, most of us fall someplace near the middle ground between polyamory including multiple commitments, all on equal ground, or just casual sex just for pleasure. We both seem to find ourselves near the center ground. We both enjoy a bit less guarded perspective, where we can let our emotions go where they will. We have both enjoyed some extra martial sexual relationships which included some romance. Really, nobody has ever drawn either of us into their influence or romantic spell as deeply as we feel toward each other. So, in the truest sense, we are not or at least have not yet, ever become fully polyamorous. It may be that after almost four decades together, our bond as a couple just naturally creates some boundaries. Our decision to swing began and remains a decision that stems from our shared desires. It is an agreement, that encourages each other’s pleasure. Fidelity, does not require monogamy. Full allowing each other to experience pleasure and relationships is in and of itself a commitment to each other’s growth and joy!

LOL A very wise swinging couple once told US that the way to be successful in swinging is to first get rid of you expectations (so you won't be disappointed) and then to approach each situation and couple looking FOR reasons to connect and play rather than looking for reasons not to. does anyone else go through periods of doubt? - as to whether this lifestyle is what they want? - This is a 'lifestyle' and there are many different types of people in it. The definition of a swinger has changed drastically and the description you provided still falls into that definition. A lot of people choose this lifestyle because of it's openness and sexual energy. You don't have to have sex with everyone you meet to be a swinger or be in the lifestyle. Selectivity is a virtue and you have the right. Most swingers rarely hook up with others until they find the 'right' situation. But that doesn't make you less of a swinger than those who do every weekend.
