Would someone pulll--eeeezzze explain the point of fact away that if the phrase he used was SO horrible, SO despicable, SO outlandish, SO hurtfully-meant, SO otherworldly, Why OH WHY is it that it has been regurgitated to us 4,852,956,811 times in other media outlets....If he had come out and said the word "nigger" (derived originally from the Latin negro, which describes the COLOR black...not the human being....) noone in their right MIND would have republished it, but the "phrase that pays" in this case has actually become the punchline already. We all need to have the conversation that rages now as a result of this incident but not for the SAKE of the incident, rather for the sake of understanding. We also need to realize that we should not be quite this hypersensitive over words... and that is all this boils down to...language.

Another perplexing experience - - In reply to wetfem there is nothing wrong with you as a cpl. We have had simular situations everything from "oh no your a yankee" to "your too old" of course they never said this to our face we just could tell from the way those nights went the bottom line is ,you cannot possibly be compatible with everyone you meet and chatting, talking on phone, and e-mails/messages gives you just a slight insight into who you are planning on meeting thats why for us for the most part at least folks local to us we do not spend alot of time chatting etc...
we setup a face to face meeting very quickly and see where it leads most 1st meetings are strictly social and then we tell whomever we are meeting with lets make it" more private "next time that normally will lead to a positive response or a polite "we don't feel we are compatible".
We have learned to laugh about the ones who choose not to bring it to a sexual level and consider it thier loss not ours . Being in the mid aged range we know that we are more uncompatible with the majority of the swingers who frequent sights like this my wife no where looks 47 People continue to guessed her age in her mid 20's (she drives those fair ages guessers crazy she has won every time lol) and when cpls/singles meet us face to face and we tell them our kids are 28 and 26 you can see the look on thier faces that is very obvious "They did not read our profile very well".

I don't think you can generalize people by locale. Political position also has nothing to do with tact. Both Dems and Reps can "mud sling" and both can be vulgar. You can't say that all southern people are well-mannered and cordial, after all they still have the highest levels of open racism in their states, to include forms of self-imposed segregation. We know first hand, we moved from the south to Utah. A year in the South Carolina (An Uber Republican State), we saw racism, like we've never seen it. Does that mean all Southern people are ignorant racists??? No, just as it means that not all are good well mannered, polite individuals. The same applies to the more liberal states. Locale has absolutely nothing to do with it. Thinking like that... generalizing... sterotyping is what breeds hate and intolerance.
Using these forums as an example; most people that claim that they are above the mud slinging, name calling or other social taboos, are a regular source of it. They are the first to critisize everyone they interact with, yet pull no punches and often hypocritically violate the rules they try to impose on everyone. I've learned that there are a lot of people here that like to dictate to others what swinging and social interaction should be, yet they do not wish to be generalized or categorized within those confines.
Regarding the subject of this thread... I think that if you have an attractive quality a "draw" and there is someone available that is draw to said quality, then you will be successful. We all have factors which attract or repel others. Unfortunately, sometimes this is age.
