Some people need a real connection with a person to make a connection, whether it be physical or otherwise. Some swingers (especially the men) can just do it with anybody, it's just something new, that's good enough. Personally, I like to have a strong physical attraction to someone before I consider sex with them. Another thing you mention, I believe is also similar to me, I'm a giver, not a receiver.
