At what point do you out yourselves to family and friends?? - - Most of our long-term friends know we've always had an "open relationship" (and the guys are all jealous LOL), and a couple of my wife's close girlfriends know about the nature of the "clubs" we go to on weekends sometimes. (We've even managed to play with one or two of those friends ;) ) As for family, we'd never tell either side. Hers would have a real hard time I think, my siblings are younger than me but not kids anymore and probably wouldn't care. I'd say both sides would be comfortable with a "don't ask, don't tell" philosophy. Just a comment on Dr. Ziggy's post - we're the "live & let live type," and we're not at all ashamed of what we do. We wouldn't care if the whole world knew if it didn't affect our lives, but the reality would be very different, I'm sure. Why the male side of Couples are here...? - I will admit I am hoping to spark some heated debate on this.... - Well as for me the male half in our equation I do not want to just get laid and I guess I am fortunate but the Mrs. would never think of treating me like a penis in waiting. I would not even consider knowingly fucking a woman that thinks about me or men like that. If that is really what women in the swinging scene generally think then all men, single and in a relationship, should be asking themselves why do they bother. I know there are a lot of women that behave otherwise, and that respect men that do at least dabble in non monogamy. These women would and should be insulted by such a selfish portrayal of who they are. Men that feel you are not worthy of equality get a hold of yourself. Considering who I am coupled with that is easy to understand. My wife is pretty damned special and extremely sexy and we remain extremely attracted to each other and the sexual chemistry is still there and evolving. Yes it is much easier to understand why I would be so captivated by her then the other way around but she loves me and I know how lucky that makes me. We still really, really dig each other. We both have to feel some real chemistry with any potential playmates for sex to happen. When you are happy then why settle so we don't? No interest on either side of our equation to just get laid. We already suspect that swinging will eventually run it's course and we will just lose interest. We seem to be almost totally disinterested in all the big events and only occasionally attend a meet and greet. NOBODY was going to ever answer any ad you put in the mag, so there wasn't any point in spending the big bucks on a Polaroid, and they didn't come out with cheaper ones that most people could afford until what, late '70s I think it was? (I wonder how many people on the site ever even saw one of those) Anyway,no need for a camera or a PO box for replies, there wouldn't ever be any replies. That "advantage" was offset big time by the fact that the only way you ever even knew about any gatherings, let alone got into them, was if someone knew you and asked you. Which hardly ever happened even if you knew a couple dozen swingers, like I did, because it WAS essentially wife swapping back then. Or if not full swapping, a sort of swapping with everyone in the same room So if you didn't have a lady with you, you had nothing to offer.
