Original humans as swingers? - Provocative theories based on Bonobo sexual behavior - I have actually found this to be true, quite recently in fact. My wife and I were at a rough time in our marriage and simoultaneously happened upon another woman that we both really enjoyed (who is also QUITE gorgeous). After a while of all getting to know each other, we welcomed her into our home and she became our full-time 3rd. Within mere days of her joining us, the conflict between my wife and I just faded. While the 2 ladies love each other dearly, there seems to be between them a friendly sort of competition for my affections at any given moment. Therein, they are both perpetually on their "best behavior". It's a communal, free and open relationship now and everyone gets along even better than what was already a great marriage. There is no guilt and no jealousy, just love and friendship. It's awesome and stands as irrefutable evidence that "civilized, modernized sexuality" is not the natural state of the species. Hosting a swingers Party - - Setting up parties can be difficult to do successfully. and yes you have to make sure that it is all legal as well.
One way that we found to get around all of this....... have a house party. have it either at your home or a friend's home. Guest must bring own drinks and a dish to pass. We have done lots of these. They work out great. Everyone seems to enjoy themselves better and don't have to worry about the police.

Swinging/Polyamory - I just wanted to hear other people thoughs on this....... - Poly is pretty much a multi-party marriage (more than two) and includes all the commitments that go with a marriage.
Swinging is "recreational sex" irreguardless of what other relationship you might be in, ie single married, poly etc.
The one thing that I disagree with in the thread is that swinging does not or should not involve a relationship. Rather it is the LEVEL of relationship/commitment that is the question. If you have friends, especially close friends (and I hope you all do) that is a relationship. "Normal society" says you must be in a much higher level of relationship/commitment ie married to have sex. Swingers say you can be on a good friends, friends, or even just acquaintences and have sex. All of these are relationships and I would submit for your consideration that there are a lot of swingers that enjoy getting together with the same people multiple times and also enjoy other things together outside of hopping into bed with each other. That all is a relationship but lower level of commitment. So maybe the commitment level is really the demarkation.
We swing and really enjoy it. We have friends that are also swing partners and we enjoy them both as swingers and friends. We have friends that don't swing and we enjoy them. Those are all relationships, but the commitment is to friendship and or swinging. Does this make sence?
couples with kids - - We have 4 kids, 3 of which are under 3 years old. An 8 year old girl, 2 year old twin girls, and a one year old boy, so we totally understand the frustration that comes along with being loving parents and active swingers. To two worlds aren't always compatable. We have tried in vain to find a good sitter for all the kids, so most of the time we end up swinging when our oldest is off at a sleepover with a friend and the other babies are in bed. Today for instance, my wife and I had our girlfriend over for fun till 5:30 this morning and the kids got up an hour later!lol. So I am up with them taking care of the kids while the women sleep it off. Hard, but a small price to pay for a hot 3-some! Anyhow, as most swinging parents know....get it when you can, and if not....NO BIG DEAL. The kids needs come first. It's only sex after all. Friendship vs. spontaneity? - Are you here to make friends or just to fuck? - The perception of this lifestyle is that there is a whole lot of sex going on between everyone. Maybe if you are young slim and trim and willing to go to bed with everyone at the drop of a hat that is true. But that pretty much describes the young anyway. If that is your perception of all swingers, and you are here in Utah, then you are bound to be disappointed.
I think that this question comes up a lot because it is not a simple question for many of us and it seems to be posted by those seeking friends first. The end goal may be sex. But if that is your only goal then why do you say you are seeking friends. Friendships are not made in 30 seconds or a drink over at the pub. If that is what makes friendships in your mind then you are really just here for sex.
For us it is finding friends. Some folks that we meet we will play with and some we will be just friends with. It really boils down to a 4 way vote when it comes to the bedroom and maybe even being friends in the first place. And that is what makes finding friends and bedroom partners difficult. There is always the added fear of rejection that gets in the way when you want to anything anyone.
I look at all the complaints of one-nighters and couples that never speak again after sex. I can only surmise that for those folks sex is the only yard stick of friendship. You do not have to be sexually compatible to be friends.
We have found that if what you are looking for is friends, then it is easy to be part of the lifestyle. If what you are looking for is based on having sex then it is easy to be disappointed and difficult to be part of the lifestyle.
Furthermore we look at those that just want to screw and think how lonely their existence must be.
