Faith in the veracity of any religion's origin story, or the effectiveness of it's doctrine is only part of the story for people that choose to be in the flock, and probably less important to anyone participating as such, then the interpersonal experiences they have with the friends they make, and of course with their family. You can make anything sound ugly. Certainly people that hate swinging and swingers will not portray swinging as anything good. In the end the real question is perhaps as simple as whether or not you are happy and compatible with someone for who they are, in all their complexities, rather than are you compatible with their religion.
