Age differences - How do you handle it - We look to make some sort of a friendship with anyone we play with so we feel the best chance that would happen is if they were close to our ages but we have found many exceptions to that theory. We are just playing the odds that a connection is most commonly found with someone of similar ages. The reason for this thread was because of conversation we were involved in at a party recently that we attended. People of all ages were there. I was sitting with a few older ladies, who I must say were very attractive, but then they started talking about all of their ailments and it almost makes me afraid that I might accidently hurt them if we played. I want to provide pleasure, not pain. Also a few were saying they went to a big party and it was mostly younger couples who were dirty dancing and flirting but not really playing and they felt the younger swingers are not as sexual as the older people are. One rationalized it by saying that maybe the fear of pregnancy is the issue. We try to be ourselves at all times and if we find common interests with a couple younger or older then us, great. People who may be a bit less stable emotionally might take that to extremes. Happens in politics and maybe it happens just a bit within the lifestyle community. If the in group that they want to belong to does not prefer a certain type of appearance, gender preference, sexual preference, whatever, they will go out of their way to insult and sort of persecute those sorts of people to try and find favor within their target group. We have gone to meet and greets, where we have been approached by people, who rather than just honestly letting us know they were interested, they spent more time telling us what losers their perception of the majority of the other attendees were and how we were more like them and not like the rest of the crowd. They point out some commonality we might seem to share with them. We don't attend a meet and greet to develop a sense of superiority or inflate our or their egos. We let them know we are very much like the crowd in many ways. When we are really in the moment and really connecting with anyone or anything, do we think in terms of our ego? Or do sublime moments remove us from the burden of ego? Ego can make wall flowers of any of us, if it overrides our curiosity, humanity and sense of adventure. Maybe sex can be such a sublime healing event that all those differences and all the self labeling that seem so important get reframed. Do we see realty more clearly in the afterglow?

I was looking at all the stuff people in my friends list posted today on Facebook and in thinking about these friends it became apparent that quite a few here in Utah, that are married have at some point in their lives together, either shared a girlfriend or had a few sexual encounters with other couples they have met and yet they do not affiliate with the swingers scene or really consider themselves swingers. Most of our non religious single friends have casual sex on an ongoing basis. Non monogamy is becoming more and more widely considered normal and acceptable. I know for a fact that a few of our young and super sexy crowd, that used to be more active here online mostly hook up with people that never had a online profile here or anywhere because they do not see why they need one. I am not sure if on a national level this is true but here in Utah with our thriving "I'm not part of the theocracy" counter culture it seems that hooking up in a manner usually associated with swinging happens a lot and does not require associating with the swing scene for it to happen. Do your friends and family know about your lifestyle? - - Our very FIRST experience ever with this lifestyle was down in Vegas. We figured we were out and away from our home town, which mind you at the time, was a small small town where everyone new everyone, and everyone's business. Anyway, we went to Vegas for a night on the town and thought we might go to the Red Rooster and ck it out. I was extremely nervous anyhow because we had never done anything of the sort, and we didn't know what to expect when we went inside. We mustard up the nerve to go in, and went on upstairs to the couples lounge. Just as I was getting comfortable with being there I look up only to see a girl and her husband from none only then our own home town. She new all my family, and to make it worse she lived right by my husband's brother, and I worked at the same store she did just in different departments. I was mortified the whole night long.....I just kept thinking....OMG, here we are, never done this b4, 400 miles from home, at the Red Rooster, and we run into someone that we freaken know. What are the odds??!! The worst part of it, she has the LOUDEST mouth in the whole valley so I just knew she was gonna tell everyone she seen me there at a swingers club. lol Thats just our luck! Needless to say, we got home, I seen her at work, and she said nothing at all. Our family didn't find out, no one we knew found out, and from then on....I just really didn't care that much. Bsides, they were there too....so, I had something on them as well!
