Actually I wasn't referring necessarily to singles who don't hook up with couples. I was referencing that old couples (okay mostly married guys who aren't bi) argument that swingles don't bring as much (or anything, depending on who you're talking to) to the table. Personally we think anyone can call themselves a swinger...and some actually are regardless of their marital status. Whether or not they truly have a swinger's mindset is something altogether different. Some singles do, many don't. And to be fair, there are couples who don't either.
Meeting new swingers? - Where to meet them? -
The net is by far the best way. The two main clubs near us are not good hunting ground and are pricey to join/attend. The next best clubs are in DC, but then you have 2 or more hours between anyone you might meet there.
Place truthful ads about what you want and don't be afraid to respond to the ones already posted. Also Yahoo groups are a great place to meet people by interest.
Why are there so many swingers from Utah? - - There are a lot of Utah members on here because it is based here in Utah and Rob does a great job of promoting it locally.
Question - do you talk about other swingers? - I think most of us have talked about who we have met before, but there is a line that shouldn't be crossed when talking about others. ok questions for you laytonites....or anyone... - most people know my part time job... - I'm really curious too. I have run into people at parties that I knew outside the lifestyle, and ran into people in the real world that we recognized from the site. I would like to know if any research has been done as too how many couples in Utah are swingers (or a member count for this site that diversifies states) and what percentage of couples are swingers (I'm guessing it has to be higher than people generally think because of my experiences. Perhaps 20%). Anybody hear of any documented research that answers either question.
Swinging with Vanillas - Any success stories? - We have discovered that there are more than a few people, singles and yes even married couples that do not belong to any swing web site that are open minded enough to have sex outside of marriage if and when the notion seems like something they want to do but that are not out aggressively looking for hook ups and that do not define themselves as swingers. It frankly seems pretty healthy and eliminates the expectation and disappointment aspects associated with booty calls, friend request, meet and greets you name it. Will just such couples fall into bed as often as those aggressively looking to swing? Probably not but there are couples that most everyone views as vanilla that have stories that begin something like "There was this time when we were with some friend in Wendover."
As for really inebriated people that are beyond judgment that might be coaxed into doing something they might later regret, well we find that a bit disconcerting whether they are vanillas or swingers and will pass on that.

Met someone you know at a lifestyle event - - Been there, done that, have the t-shirt. There's really no easy way to explain, deflect, lie, or otherwise extricate yourself from that situation. Counting, just now in my head, it's happened to us no less than half a dozen times. Everyone from family members (Ms. Evil's cousin), friends of friends (BFF's of our former next door neighbors), business acquaintances/clients, you name it. It's always such an unexpected shock that we invariably handle it poorly. LOL
ps- Happened again last night at a wedding, of all things! Not really a lifestyle event/party but plenty of swingers there and the implications were probably fairly obvious to anyone really paying attention.
