There are some gays who wear their wedding rings on their right hands (solidarity against "the man" who doesn't let them marry, etc.) -- but "black" isn't a specific thing in the gay community as far as I can tell from some quick research.
The middle finger on the right hand is apparently reserved for the asexuals. (People who aren't interested in sex). Although given that there are roughly 8 such people in the United States, I wouldn't stress too much over being confused with that community.
If this gets any more complex, we're going to need a right-hand-ring governing body. =)
I view the black-ring on a swinger-looking couple as the final checkbox of "oh.. yup.. definitely swingers... look.. both wearing black rings on the right hand". If I just saw a random person with a black ring on a right finger, I wouldn't think anything of it. I would just like to see it become more of a thing in Utah, like it is elsewhere in the country. =) My wife and I wear ours when we go out together for date-night... otherwise we don't bother with them.

Friend collectors or swingers - - We don't fuck people we don't consider friends. But you don't HAVE to fuck us to be our friend. Our friend list, right now, has maybe a dozen couples on it...only one of which we are currently (and infrequently, I might add) playing with. Personally, we're not looking for more people to play with until this whole COVID thing is a LOT more under control. Like SweettAndH, we prune the garden quite frequently and usually delete "friends" if there is no movement to get to know one another better in some way within several weeks at most. *shrug*

Divorce rates - How do we compare - We are a bit of an older couple with a different prospective. Amoung our swinging friends and aquaintances if we were to generalize it is that they are on a second marriage, have been married for 10 years or so and are very happy. Amoung our non-swinging friends they are on their first second, or third marriage and are generally unhappy. I would put the divorce rate amoung the non-swingers at more than double that of the swingers over a 10 year period.
Is there a small group of couples - - I would love to join a group of swingers.
