Worst advise I can think of... It defeats one of the biggest attractions of Lava, which is once you park your car for the weekend it doesn't move until you go home.
I can think of few things less fun than driving 35 minutes on mountain roads after a couple of drinks at the Blue Moon or visiting Lava and being tagged the designated driver. Everyone that parties goes to the Blue Moon as that is where the fun is at in the evening.
For those who have never done Lava the main attractions in the summer are tubing the river and the Blue Moon, while the main attractions in the winter are the hot springs and the Blue Moon. There are other things to do and you can mix and match, but we've found that is how our time breaks out when we're not fucking.
We visit Lava 5 or 6 times a year, of those maybe two are for LS Events, two for romantic getaways and two for friends and family.
Lava is known as a local Idaho and Utah swingers destination and there are many there every weekend. The problem is you need to have your meet ups scheduled before arriving as it's almost impossible to sort the LS from the vanilla on site.
Risqué Soiree held an event in Lava last spring that was very fun and well attended, we hope they do it again this year. It was a great event for those new to the LS or anyone wanting to meet friends. Also because it involved both Idaho and Utah there was a lot more interaction than many meet ups where people have a tendency to group up with those they already know.
Lava is one of those places you will either fall in love with and visit often, or visit once to say you have been there and done that and never return. But one thing I can promise, and that is if your room is in Pocatello you'll never understand the nuances that make Lava so charming to many. If you want big fancy hotels and everything about your visit orchestrated you would be much better advised to spend your vacation in Vegas as you will not be happy in Lava.
Anyhoo... that's our two cents, your mileage may vary.

Non - Mormon Social Group - Get Togethers And Travel - There are swingers who used to be active, participants in the LDS Church, that are so far removed from the belief and activity that you can swear, drink, and dress provocatively when you are around them, and maybe even kiss and rub up against them on a dance floor, with their consent, in public and they don't care who sees them, and it would surprise few if they did. We pretty much fall into that category of persons. That does not even begin to suggest that just because some of the people who might see them, would not be surprised, that they won't be judgmental and gossip about them. Basically, if you are looking to be able and go out and behave contrary to the rules and regulations of the LDS Church with out worrying about guarded behavior, and you are forming a group to facilitate the fun, then it might make sense to make it plain that your group is not planning on covering up anything, beyond that which must be covered up to avoid getting arrested. The real barrier to entry for a person still involved with the LDS faith, or any other faith would seem to be their own comfort zone.
For those whose extended social circle, requires deeper discretion, most of us who don't worry much about that now, do remember when it seemed to matter way more to us too. It is okay if it will always matter to you. We all make our own choices in life. You are not alone, and yes we understand and respect you.
How to identify yourself as a Swinger - - FWIW we're on several other swing sites and one of them has an app for your smartphone that will alert you if you are close to another swinger (assuming they also have the app and it's enabled) and allows you to text them. Yeah, that one's pretty much been a bust as well even though it's actually a pretty good idea. People forget to turn it on (they usually don't leave it running when they're at work or home or at church just in case someone they really don't want to know they're a swinger somehow has the app) when they're actually in a vanilla situation where they wouldn't mind being approached. Of course the prices are high! This is not just a cruise it is a cruise catering to a special taste. Prices are determined by the laws of supply and demand. Niche vacations catering to a discriminating group are usually more expensive, because they can be. The ship will most probably fill up so why would the price drop? In order for prices to drop the supply of swing cruise opportunities would have to increase to the point that the supply was so abundant it demanded price competition just to fill the cabins. Prices for non swing cruise opportunities are so much less expensive because there are so many available. Swing cruise means no noise complaints because because of orgasms, nudity accepted in more locations, and a ship full of sex friendly, sex enthusiastic people, plus all the other amenities and destinations available on a typical cruise headed for the same ports. You are paying a price for exclusivity. Excluding the non swinging public, through price, is one way you guarantee a swing friendly cruise.
Five million would build a really small, but intimate swing resort. In this market it could probably buy more than it could build, because property is available for less than the cost of construction. If done well, as a swingers only facility I would imagine you could ask two or three times a normal occupancy rate and get it. Swing clubs keep getting shut down so conquering all the legal issues seems like the first order of business to pursue in any intended locality. Otherwise your property could become just another hotel and very price sensitive in a sea of hotels.
