Swinging/Polyamory - I just wanted to hear other people thoughs on this....... - Much of what has been said I agree with, but I do know poly couples in the lifestyle. Their swinging is a bit more complicated as far as the decision process because I would imagine that such a decision would need to be agreed upon by all partners involved.
The biggest difference I think between regular swingers and those who are involved in poly relationships is while most people who swing would shun the development of emotional ties to other swingers thinking it would be the doom of their spousal (primary) relationship, those who are also involved in or those who are open to the possibility of poly relationships would welcome the development of additional relationships for what they are knowing there is neither a need to replace their spouse or run off with the person they have formed this new relationship with. It does add further complication to their life, but it can also enrich it tremendously.

Friends? - Friends in and out of the bedroom? - It seems like there are two general classes of swingers. The 'one and done, "we already have all the friends we need just bend over and take it"' crowd and 'the more friends the merrier, in fact "we prolly won't fuck you until we know you a little better"' group. We fall into the latter group. In fact we're pretty much here solely for the friendships. I mean, if sex happens that's awesome. But it's not our raison d'etre cuz we can always go home and enjoy the hell out of banging each other. YMMV

tired of the B>S> - - u know, i don't think we're validated or certified or whatever they call it here on this site. we've been on so many it's hard to keep track. anyway, we're very real and we just don't give a hoot about validations anymore. i guess u could say we've progressed thru maslow's hierarchy of needs for swingers to the self-actualized phase. that's a clever way of saying we no longer give a rat's ass what other people think. ;)
we've been swingers since 2003, and we really only went to a lot of parties and sought out new experiences with regularity for the first 2 years. now it's just another "thang" we dabble in from time to time when the mood hits us...mostly on vacation, weekend getaways, and stuff like that.
and we really have no ego stake in how many unsolicited emails we do or don't get from people asking us to hook up or inviting us to parties. if we get the itch, we'll look around, find something that piques our curiosity, and send them a message.
it's all really no big deal. and we have found that folks who get wrapped around the axle about this stuff are not the kind of folks we want to hang out with anyway.
