New Swingers Club in Utah - Gauging interest in new club - We would be down a few times a year. We love Scarlet Ranch in Denver and have often thought about opening a similar club in Utah or Vegas
Swingers now officially a high risk group for STDs and STIs - Do your own research - So I did a quick research on this subject. I found what most everyone found, 2010ish articles about 50+ year old swingers being at higher risk. I don't think anyone here has mentioned the reason why is that age group is less likely to use protection. Now I'm not a great believer that condoms will prevent everything. Hell, by the time you have touched one another's naughty bits, kissed or had any contact you have exposed yourself to a mountain of risk. That being said, condoms are a pretty easy to use method of decreasing one's risk.
As for swinging being an "official" risk group...says who? I went to the Center For Disease Control's website http://www.cdc.gov/ and looked up various search terms such as "swinging," "swinger," and "swinger party." All I found was one article that references men who do not identify themselves as gay who have met gay men at swinger parties. My thinking here is if this is such a growing and "official" problem wouldn't the CDC have a bit more to say about it? I admit I didn't spend a ton of time on this so if anyone has nothing better to do by all means please do so.
Yeah swinging may be risky but I'm pretty sure more people are injured each year from scuba diving and riding motorcycles. My wife and I are sexual and social people. For us the lifestyle is a great fit and we mitigate the risk by being selective and safe. Our tests have all been clear and by avoiding IV drug users and other risk groups we cut down the chance of getting a nasty bug. This year was my first as a severe special education teacher and I was thrown through a window by one of my students so I have to say my employment situation is a hell of a lot riskier than being in the lifestyle. I'm not quitting teaching because I love my kids, and I'm not giving up the life style because I love...well, you know!

Looking for Advice - Recently coming back into the LS - Others have told you that you aren't actual swingers. We say, who cares what they think? You are in the "lifestyle" for your enjoyment and preferences. Don't be bothered about what they tell you. However, they were correct that what you want is a "tall order". They may not have been judging you, but just giving you the reality of what you seek. But, be patient. At some point, a unicorn or a wife with a hall pass will join you. weight approperate - - We have been in the lifestyle together for 10 years now and couples not being up front about just wanting to play with the wife alone has always been a problem with us. We let people know upfront we only play together.
Now on the weight subject...We advertise ourselves unashamedly about being a BBW/BHM couple. We also let people know if its Ken and Barbie they want they need to move on down to the next profile. Even here on Swingular we have yet to see even a featured member that is a person or couple of size. In our humble opionion it's something swingers media needs to address.
Our whole take on the topic is this...If your mind is so closed that you can not see beyond exteriors then its your loss.
We started a Yahoo group called Big Beautiful Couples and Ladies a couple years ago with the idea that if membership grew large enough maybe organizing an event similar to Lifestyles or Hedonism II. Though the membership is small we still have the passion for the idea of a convention with Big Beautiful People as the primary attendees. We are still checking to see if there is a similar group here on Swingular and if not we'll be getting it rocking and rolling.

Why Be In Utah? - - Actually I've always wondered the same thing about Florida. Substitute the crazy Mormons for the Bibile thumpers from Orlando north into the panhandle, add in the hurricanes, torrential rains, gaters, snakes and mosquitos...besides, I've heard the snow skiing is HORRIBLE there. But I'll bite.
1) No porn. You can buy dirty magazines but (unless you know where to go) hard core x-rate movies are technically illegal to sell. A non-issue in the internet age. If you're still buying dvd's at the local porn emporium you need to maybe update your computer or your media server or something.
2) No real beer. Again a myth. You can only buy 4% (by volume) beer in grocery stores but you can get full strength beer at state liquor stores, restaurants and places like brewery stores. Try getting ANYTHING to drink in some dry towns/counties in the Bible Belt.
3) True to some extent, although Salt Lake City itself is VERY eclectic and quite liberal politically. But at least our LDS lawmakers know basic female anatomy and have somewhat of a grasp of proven basic science. No kooky evangelicals freaking out every time someone mentions birth control or evolution.
4) Most people are afraid of Mormons? Really? I've heard they have horns and the missionaries CAN be a little annoying when you're fucking and they're ringing the doorbell but I don't think people are truly afraid. Besides, contrary to popular belief the swing scene here is alive, active and vibrant. I'd wager that per capita we have more, and more active, swingers than just about any place you can name. All that repressed Mormon sexuality eventually bubbles to the surface and until you've fucked a formerly repressed little Mormon girl who's discovering her sexuality you, my friend, haven't fucked! :-)
