Age - New to the swingers community - is age a factor in how a couple is viewed? - I have been swinging since the days it was called wife swapping. I am not interested in those under mid 30's and perfer to stay under age 55 as my preference. How to find other swingers - - If we're in a crowd of people and we want to find others, we wear our shirts that say "We love the lifestyle". The words are not in big bold letters across the front and back of the shirt and on a mens shirt they appear on the left chest and on women's they appear across the middle of the shirt.

Every now and then a post will pop up on here talking about meeting a couple outside the lifestyle and wanting to ask "Are you swingers?"
Last year my family and I moved up to Spokane Washington and once we got settled in got to know our neighbors. Turned out the couple next door was near our age and had a daughter close to our sons age, so instant parental friendship since our little ones hit it off.
After a while of getting to know them we became better friends and that question started to kind of creep up in my mind. One sunday looking through a swinger website I happend across a couple who lived in our town, about our age similar intrests and they looked vaguely fimiliar. it wasn't till I got further into their photo albums that I recognized the tattoo on the male half of our neighbors upper arm.
I started laughing and called out to my wife "you'll never believe this!" I kept laughing and told her "I knew there was another reason we got along so well."
Turned out that we weren't what they normally look for in fuck buddies but the friendship we had built up more then made up for the differences. So its been a year and occassionally we still get together for fun time. Its nice to be able to go over to each others houses on the premise of a sleep over and just wait for the little ones to tire themselves out. Then tire ourselves out.
Not sure if thats the kind of stuff your looking for but I find it amusing.

I rarely post on these issues, but have to throw this in on this particular thread. I believe the basic question that we all have to ask ourselves is:
"Why are we in the LifeStyle to begin with?"
I will not presume to answer for anyone on here, but for my wife and I the particular reason is to spend our lives living not living to spend our lives. As far as all the single males, fatties, skinnies bashing that appears to be occurring, folks, we are missing the basic premise of the swinging lifestyle here. It is to meet new people, establish friendships and to reap the benefits of those friendships even if they are just someone to go get a burger with. Just because you are on a "Swingers" site, sex is not all that there is. We are just as happy finding folks that want to grab dinner and see a movie as we are playing around with. Building lasting relationships and having people that one can count on is more important than notching our bedposts.
As far as the body weight issue is concerned, K has gone through quite an ordeal to lose over 100 pounds in the past 15 months (and she is looking very good!). To those folks that apply the HWP stipulation to their profiles. all I can suggest is that perhaps you should redefine your limitations. You could be missing out on not only some great friendships, but actually some pretty intense sexual experiences.
Kitty, anyone that has anything negative for you should seriously step back and examine who they are, what they want, where they are in life and why they are in this particular lifestyle. And BTW, I am with you on your own little world thing!
It is ALL about having fun, making friends and enjoying life. The limits that each individual or couple places upon themselves, is by their choice and I support that choice, but they only limit the experiences they will have in our exceptional community.
Secrets, I totally agree with you on the being good at being ourselves point. However, sometimes the choices and perceptions that we have are too overwhelming. Let's face it, no one is born into this lifestyle and all of our ideas, conceptions and beliefs are based on what we learned in our formative years. For some, that includes the perfective (is that a word?) states of looks, shape and health. Is that the goals that should drive us in a lifestyle of this nature?

Are you still interested! - Dynamics amoung swingers - Actually, we can't seem to figure out what the f...k anybody in "the lifestyle" wants. It is becoming one of the most frustrating things we have ever done. Everyone seems to have all these issues, rules, drama, etc., etc. I thought we were all just trying to have some sexual fun.
