Professionals - - That's just it Chibones: no we are NOT all looking for the same thing out of the lifestyle. People are as diverse as the imagination...and then some. And we have learned that in the lifestyle there are a myriad of things people want and don't want. No two couples are exactly the same and many are polar opposites. Some people do not want to limit the possibilities or their options. But MANY do want to limit them. Some...like yourselves...say almost nothing of substance about yourselves in their profiles. Others write auto-biographies. Some are looking for that one special couple or single. Some are looking to have sex with everything they get within arm's reach of. Some only want dark-haired ladies with large breasts. Others only want men over 50 years old and over 6' tall. Geographical and regional cultural differences play a strong role in how people craft profiles and conduct themselves in the lifestyle. In our town, you could not be a "professional" and be open about being a swinger. You would be harassed and heavily discriminated against in business. Preachers would tell their congregations not to patronize your business from the pulpit on Sunday mornings, and most of your customers would be church-goers who do what their pastors tell them. Your kids would be tormented in school. Interestingly, if you were an entertainer or a construction worker or truck driver, nobody would care. Your life would go on without incident. This isn't Safety Harbor, FL! (we used to live in St. Pete) The big fight right now in town is over the new Hilton hotel and whether or not they should be allowed to offer PPV adult movies in the hotel rooms. Also, we have a very large element of...how show we say...under-achieving whites...in the lifestyle in this region of the country. I would be willing to wager a month's pension check that you would not associate with them. By comparison, when we look at FL swinger profiles and talk to our FL swinger friends about it, we get the distinct impression that swinging is more of a middle class and upper class past-time down there. So, in a desire to both clue the right people in and not offend the rest, around here white collar couples tend to use the code-phrase, "We are a _________ professional couple who like to..." It's sort of a polite way of saying "No illiterate toothless hillbillies strung out on methamphetamines who cannot behave in public, please!" So, if "professional couple" offends your sensibilities, you should try walking in OUR shoes for awhile before judging us based on a phrase. Around here, a lawyer who is outed as a swinger would be in serious jeopardy of losing his bar certification. An elected official would be toast. A political appointee would be fired immediately. A real estate agent would see their business shrivel to nothing in weeks. A doctor would lose 3/4 of his patients within a month. And the funniest/saddest thing about it all is that we have one of the highest concentrations of swingers per capita in the US...3rd highest I believe. This is why PC thinking is so unwise. We judge others based on OUR realities and not usually on THEIRS. In a desire to encourage more "tolerance," we actually become intolerant of anything WE find the least bit offensive. Personally, I celebrate everyone's right to be offensive, wrong, and dumb. That doesn't mean I agree with them or enjoy their company, either. It just means I accept people for who they are and acknowledge their right to be who they want to be. It means I hold the individual's right to self-determination and freedom of expression above almost all other values. It means I am TOLERANT.

Jewellery, logos, etc to identify other swingers - We would like info on websites catering to discreet items to let others "know" we are in the lifestyle - I've got an idea, we could start a web site where everybody could get together and talk and see pics of each other and call and meet........ Now what would we call it swing......swingpeople,,,,,,swingular,,,,,,, thats it lets call it Swingular,,,,,,,,What! somebody beat me to it.

Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - **Why must you constantly mock people? Why are you feeling so worthless in life. Suicide is a viable option for you. And you are right, I do not know you. I could not associate with a person who feels no self worth other than by being a bully. I do indeed feel so sorry for you. Can I loan you a rope or something? ** Jesus Christ, that's a horrid thing to say to anyone- even someone you may dislike! *makes mental note of pictures so I know who to avoid at future get togethers*

Mormons - - They have singles wards, why not swingers wards? :z

Age - New to the swingers community - is age a factor in how a couple is viewed? - We have played withcouples from the early 20's and up...we have never cared about age.. Its always been attitude and how long we get along ..you know personality etc. We have a big differance in age ourselves 15 years... just has never mattered...now if someone will hand me my cane..I'm off to have fun.. Fast lane travel in the digital age - Swinging - There are advantages and disadvantages, and Delicious, Cpswin, and Evil have pretty much covered them. But with all the disadvantages and lack of automatic screening, there is one big advantage. People genuinely interested in the lifestyle, nice and honest people, who might have known it existed and wanted to get into it can find it now. That wasn't always true. I sort of stumbled into it in the late '70s, simply because of some "hippiedom" connections from the early '70s. And even then, because I was single, I got invited to very, very, few gatherings. In fact, it was pretty much only if someone of about 4 or 5 couples were invited and the husband couldn't go and I was honored to be allowed to sort of fill in for him. Then in '82 I went to Europe, and when I came back in '89 I didn't even think of trying to find it again, I'd lost track of my old friends, and figured it'd be a useless pursuit, which it would have been. So, even though it lets idiots like single males who refuse to accept any responsibility for their own behavior, and who apparently think they're God's gift to women, and get all butt-hurt when they find out a girl they met on a swingers site is having sex with someone besides just them, find the lifestyle, it also lets some nice people who, just because they didn't happen to know anyone who was already involved, find it too. And I suspect that the bad outweigh the good, because the bad will get recognized as such, people will talk to each other, and while the not nice people will still find the public events, they'll be avoided by others, and eventually just go away. So hooray for the internet. [em]Emo_80[/em] Besides, if it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't be able to make my poor attempts at trading jokes with Evil. Whose current "backing away" won't, I hope, keep us from meeting him sooner or later, even with him in Salt Lake and us up in Ogden. I'm dying to find out if he's as funny in person as he is online. ~ Terry

I Have A Question - Poly vs. Open - We have friends in both of those communities and dip in and out of both but don't actually consider either what we have or want. Simply: Swinging is generally, ironically, too casual for us while also having way too many cultural rules (but we fucking love your parties), We also find that while we have fun with and enjoy the company of a lot of swingers, most are culturally pretty different from us. Polyamory, as people play it, is typically far too intense for us and that community also has a lot of cultural strictures and high expectations (but we've had great parties there, too, and have made really close friends, even though we're not into Star Wars 😜). So we look for genuine friends, because that's how it started and that's how it's always been with us. We're as likely to go to coffee than get naked. And our lives are crazy busy, so we don't have a lot of time to give. But we each go out with someone probably once a week. That said, it's not necessarily the same person and actually getting together for a night out, rather than coffee or lunch, probably only happens twice a month each at most. Once a month is more common. We don't really have rules. That's kind of antithetical to how our relationship works in general. Instead, we spend focused time with each other. We go to coffee together once a week. We go to lunch together once a week. And we go out together once a week. We plan that on Saturday over coffee or ok a run. We also talk constantly. We've always been completely open with each other. Having a mutually wanted and understood open relationship makes transparency easy for us. We also like to inevitably introduce anyone were seeing regularly to each other. We also don't pry at all but like to be sure the other person's spouse or primary partner is good and that they're relationship is healthy. It sounds a lot like what people call polyamory except that it stays casual. For that reason, the other people need to realize that's all it will ever be. The flip side to that is making sure we only get involved with grounded and reliable people. We've been doing it long enough that we both have a whole set of friends we might go out with on and off. For us, regardless of their jobs, they're often artistic, musical, literary, dancers, etc..

What are swingers really looking for ?Are they looking for frien - Has the happen to you. - This happen on another swingers site but our profile is the same as the one on here and it says that We will chat with couples and get together and become friends. (But no sexual stuff.) I did not save the first e-mail this couple send us but there profile says while friendship is nice,we aren't looking for best friends. We are looking for playmates! So I send them Hey! Thank You for writing. Right now I don't think we are compatible, good luck in your search. And they send me Hey! Sorry didn't realize you were expecting! So to explain more I send them Hey! We are very new to the lifstyle. We are looking for only friendship from couples. My husband is not ready to see me with another man.(watching, playing or sex)In your profile you said that friendship is nice but that you are looking for playmates. You are execting more then we can give and we are execting more then you can give. And they send me We Really do not know what you are talking about, just from your pictures it appeared you were pregnant, but remember this is a "swing" website, if your looking for a lady you might go to a "lesbian" website..And if your looking for friendship and campanionship, you might go to church. There is one on every corner! Happy Emailing! And then they blocked me. First of all why did they e-mail us when if they read our profile they would have known that we will chat with couples and get together and become friends. (But no sexual stuff.) Second of all I was trying to be nice by explaining, why did they have to be so mean. Third of all I had a baby two year ago and I am still trying to loss it,it has been very hard. Fourth of all I do go to church, but that is not the friendship and campanionship I am looking for. We are very new to the lifestyle so did we do something wrong here? :(
