How do we all get started...? - Tell your story how you got started into swinging... - Can't remember dates but about 12 years ago I told my wife that I was poly. I/we had been monogamous for about 18 years with her. SHe had a very bad 1st marriage, had been molested as a teen and had trust issues throughout her life... Then I came along and she knew that I loved her for who she is and was as a person. Well anyway, shortly after that we went to a party of poly people and she spent hours talking to several of the women about what poly was to them and about their experience with it. Besides that I knew early on, when she was about 23, that she was bi or had strong sexual responces to women and female female sex. She refused to acknowlege these feelings becasue she had been raised in a Religion that taught her that it was a SIN. Well we made contact with a couple that were supposed to be poly and that turned out to be a bust. B had jealousy issues about the lady... but was drawn to the guy... That relationship never got off the ground. Well about a year later we found a swingers club and went to one of their socials. One of the staff couples, about our age, spent several hours talking to my wife, B. We were fairly typical 1st timers to the club scene but she was fairly turned on about the whole scene. She let one of the regulars touch her and I encouraged her by just being non jealous... After about 2 socials she was ready to join in but it took sever more before she broke the ice.. B can have an orgasm just dancing with no one other than herself. When this was discovered by several staff members and we went to the hospitality suite after the social, they kind of took advantage of her instant turn on and the next thing she was sitting on someones face and sucking on someones dick. And that's how we got into swinging... And it's been fun ever since.

DAILY CHUCKLES 3 - A LAUGH A DAY KEEPS THE PSYCHIATRIST AWAY - You know... We as swingers already have one social fopa being sex. Do we really need to add anothor being politics? I don't think so, there's already a sickening cloud surrounding politics this year. Hell if we really want to go off the deep end lets throw religen in there too, that way we hit all the basses.

Also any couples in the Ft Lauderdale or around the Cruise Port that might want to meet for a afternoon or night out of the 28th, Maybe go to a club or dinner and or just stay at the hotel order in and have fun, We are between ships and staying at the Embassy Suites on 17th street. E-mail us we would love to meet some fellow swingers.

How many women want to see men together? - Men with men or men on men?? - I have seen two men doing oral sex together and I liked it!!!! It really was a nice change from seeing two women all the time. We belonged to a swingers club, before it closed down, where it was kinda taboo for two men to play togerther and okay for women to be together. It's to bad that women can be so open and men still have to hide. An open lifestyle like this one should be more talerant. Just my two cents.

Fun Couples Cruise - - Hi we are a couple from nh we know it is a long way from the salt lake area that most people on this site seems to be from. The wife and i are looking into takeing a cruise and are tossing around the idea of a swingers cruise but not sure if we want the expense and being locked in to everything to be about swinging we are hoping you could give us a bit more info on your plans for this cruise

While the Wife is Away The Husband Will Play?? - - Ya know, I have traveled out of town alone and could have played with my wifes permission, but when I have contacted a couple I got pretty much the "yea right" response. We have received e-mails just like mine and kinda have responded the same way. So I gave it up and that was ok. So as I would sit in my room in some exciting city drinking alone reading this forum (how pathetic!) I came to the conclusion, I just wanted to hang out with swingers. Its not that I even really wanted to hook up just wanted to meet some locals and who better than with this group? C.

Is it Just Me? - Hello doesn't mean I want wild nasty sex - The problem is that there is a small very vocal minority who think that if YOU'RE a swinger and THEY'RE swingers then you should automatically be DTF with them. They just don't quite grasp the concept of someone wanting to verify that there be a modicum of attraction and sometimes even other things in common before bumping uglies with a total stranger. And it's that minority that ruin it for the majority who are respectful and courteous. Kinda like that whole single male/bad apple paradigm. I guess you can't really blame them. I mean isn't that why we all got into swinging? To indiscriminately fuck anyone, anytime, anywhere? I know that's why we did. [em]Emo_84[/em]

Were young but give us a chance!!! - - I notice that you two signed up just about two weeks ago? I would say first off to give it time. Trust and friendships within the swinging community often takes time and cultivating. It is a large and close-knit community...which means that the more people that you meet, you will meet their friends and get more peeps in your "swinging network". Only being on this site for 2 weeks means that your exposure to the social side of the community has been VERY limited. To compound that, you're legally underage for the types of activities (drinking) and venues that many of these activities occur. Be patient, and look for the other ways to meet people on here. The chat room is always a good start, there is a good variety of swingers from all age groups and social statuses that are there. Being active (in a POSITIVE, not argumentative way...we all know who we are) on the Forum threads is another way to get yourselves better known. What I would NOT do, however...is whine that you're not getting any chances given to you. That arguement is certainly not unique to the younger crowd here, as many of the older people can complain that they're not given a chance either due to their age, gray hair...whatever. Trust me...you don't want a reputation for being a complainer. Time & patience.... ~J~

real members? - - CYBER SWINGERS strike again! We had the same thing happen to us although we only drove 2 hrs this cpl must have exchanged 40 messages with us over a 3 month period they were so excited to meet us in person we showed they didn't! They were supposeably traveling to Florida on vacation we called them on the cell only got a voice mail and never heard from them again! We wish people would just be HONEST when we say we willbe someplace for a meeting we are there or we call before hand to say something has come up never leave a cpl wondering. its a fact of life in this lifestyle we simply try to make the best of it like that night we sat there enjoyed a drink and watched this beautiful blond sing and play the piano then we simply drove home and laughed and said "NEXT"! We have learned to not take the lifestyle too serious its ashame some people continue to play these petty mindgames but we know its a fact in this lifestyle. Ever want to visit North Florida look us up we WILL show up. Norm&Sharon

Important ! Please read this post. - -
You know, I read the sign on my way in here that said "Don't feed the trolls!", but I'm bored and this looks like a fun way to kill a few minutes. So, let's get started shall we?
Ahhhhhhhhhhh another guy who THINKS he knows something, but later on proves that he doesn't....
We all participate in risky behavior, huh? I suppose that depends on your definition of "risky". If you really want to be pedantic, every time you draw breath you're taking a risk. You take an even bigger risk should you choose to not draw breath.
I am sorry, thought this was a swinger site... I guess you have a study that's not from the 1990's that shows that over 50% of people engage in swinging, right? Nope, you don't, therefore we engage in risky behavior!
Typically when one uses the term "risky behavior" they're implicitly saying "behavior that is risky beyond the risk of normal behavior". Having sex with your spouse, regardless of whether they're cheating or not, is not risky behavior.
Regardless if they're cheating? Really? What, praytell, are you doing here, I guess you've solved the world's STD's crisis, right? Found a shot that cures herpes and HIV? Then how is it NOT risky if they are cheating?
Uhm... Did I miss something? What exactly are you saying "BULLSHIT!" to? It seems fairly clear that you're both stating the same sentiment.. are you calling bullshit on the fact that he bothered replying?
AHHHHHHH....Failed reading comprehension, did we? Let's have a look at what they said... What you UNDERLINED is the key.... WITHOUT complete absinence............ Without abstinence, you're engaging in risky behavior! Now, one could say, 'I use condoms, dental damns, and ALWAYS practice safe sex!' Is that enough? Let's see, ever been with a squirter? Ever had a woman get so worked up that her juices are squishing around on your balls? I guess that's not enough to catch something, right? Dr. Darcone, me thinks you need to rethink your ideas.
Are you actively going about doing cultures of these things, just looking for a place disease can be communicated from?
I don't have to, I pay taxes so I don't.
I don't know about the rest of you, but if there's a wet towel at the gym, and it's not mine, I'm not touching it. Soap Dishes? You know, I've always wondered at the point of anti-microbial soap..
Have you ever heard the saying, 'It is better to remain silent and thought of as a fool than to open your mouth to remove all doubt?' This would apply for you. Wet towels look like dry ones, yours is next to theirs, and you've NEVER accidentally grabbed someone else's? A little nick on your hand, BINGO! Anti-Microbial soap ONLY works if left in place for 30 seconds or more. Now, you place your soap on the tray, anyplace that the soap touches, in 30 seconds, would be 99.9% free of microbes, HOWEVER, anywhere it doesn't touch isn't. But you wouldn't touch the soap tray with your fingers, then touch your eyes, nose or mouth, right?
And before you knock wikipedia, it's been verified to be more accurate than any other available encyclopedia. So, while influenza and bronchitis may be transmitted sexually, they aren't STI's. If you get herpaghonasyphaclap from kissing some random corpse, then it is not sexually transmitted by definition. By the same token, an oral infection of HSV-1 is -not- an STI. It becomes an STI once it infects the sacral ganglia. Also worth noting is that neither the CDC nor WHO acknowledge HSV-1 as being an STI.
Chlamydia is the most common form of STD, it IS passed from casual and accidental contact, Herpes IS an STD, it also is passed from incidental contact. So, your entire premise if wrong.
For the actual statistics on extramarital affairs, see: This Study published by Oxford (22-25% of men, 11-15% of women). (fwiw, that article is a fantastic meta-analysis of a broad range of studies)
Actually from a Colorado college, not Oxford. Oxford may be where you found it, but your reading comprehension is, once again, coming into question. The first sentence of your report states its from Colorado. The last time I checked, Oxford is not in Colorado. Additionally, the study is from over 10 years ago, nothing has changed since then, right? The internet hasn't become more prevalent? Easy access to willing sex partners hasn't added to the instances of EMI? Nah, nothing to see here. Perhaps one should look at a more priminent site for these things? Perhaps one should look at the sample size to determine statistical significance? Perhaps one should see who was 'randomly' selected to participate?
Jim, do you actually have a point you're trying to espouse here? Are you just trying to say that sex isn't safe? I'm pretty sure we were all aware of that fact.
As a matter of fact I do, that point is: GROW THE FUCK UP! We're all taking risks, don't cry about the results of your risk taking. Would you allow someone who suddenly decided to try skydiving, had no training, packed their own chute, then jumped and was injured to complain about how they were injured? Of course not, but since it is someone who was TOTALLY aware of the risks involved and they're participating in KNOWN risky behavior its OK because you're participating in it also?
Or are you trying to say "Who needs protection? Sex is dangerous no matter what!"? If that's what you're trying to say, you have much to learn on the difference between risk and certainty.
Not at all.... I am saying, we're all aware of the risks, we don't need to read their alligator tears because they rolled the dice and came up snake eyes.
There are a plethora of things one can do to reduce the risk of contracting -any- STI. There's no certainty that you'll ever be completely safe from contracting one. There's also no certainty that you'll ever contract one.
For once, we can agree on something.
One strong way you can reduce those risks is by clearly communicating what infections you're at risk of spreading. That's the purpose of this thread, and along with most everyone else, I'd like to thank the ABC's for their post.
Showing up at a swingers' party, club, or site is pretty clearly communicating that we're at risk of ANY sexually transmitted desease.
