KUTV News Story on Swingers - News - The woman featured in the story contacted Heidi Hatch and not the other way around. Swingular became a featured part of the story because this woman included the site, as part of her tale of woe. The story was one sided because Heidi Hatch only spoke with one person as a reporter. She may have chatted with a lot of us under false pretenses. Obviously, KUTV news had a lot to do with how badly the story was presented. I would suspect there is at least one intelligent, insightful reporter somewhere with in the state that would be willing to present something less opinionated and in depth. Maybe Doug Fabrizio on KUER radio would be willing to turn his considerable talents toward an insightful investigative report. Mr. Fabrizio would probably read some of the better literature about the lifestyle in preparation and open a profile identifying himself honestly, as a reporter. The catch is he would need to be able to interview quite a few couples and singles within the lifestyle and probably actually attend a meet and greet, with an invitation, so as to have a first hand experience sans the sexual part of it. Well unless he and his wife were so inclined. With radio west being a radio program there would not be any faces revealed, but I think to be interesting the story would require a few couples willing to talk openly on air. That would be hard to find.

We were counting last summer and the number of swinger friends who've divorced over the years was well past 60 couples. Cruise - pricing - You guys are really bitching about paying $2000 for two people for a 7 day lifestyle takeover cruise? I heard Utah people were cheap but come on. Let's break that down per day... $285... per couple... per day... We've been many places that aren't nearly as nice as being on a cruise with 2100 swingers and paid a lot more than that for just hotel rooms. Throw in car rental and food and you're out even more.
So what if you're paying $600 more than what they charge for a regular cruise... you don't have to worry about children and you're around people you can actually have fun with. Sounds like the extra money is worth it to me. And have you ever been on ANY vacation when you fly? Add in airfare, liquor, tips and gratuities as well. You're not getting those things free on most other vacations anyways.
Did you go to SwingFest? The rooms there were $300 a night! So if you can't afford this cruise, don't knock the people who put it together, we've been waiting for something like this for a long time and they deserve to make a bit of money off this because I'm sure it wasn't easy.
And you're probably the ones who bitch about there never being any events or parties for lifestylers, then when someone puts one together, you bitch about it because they make a dollar for their efforts.
We'll be on the cruise and we'll be glad to see those who aren't cheap on there with us.

No, I don't know of any church-of-the-wild-and-crazy-swingers. But I DO enjoy belonging to a Church that does not issue broad sweeping edicts REQUIRING certain behaviour by people so as to assure that ya'll are exactly like me. I like differences. I like differing beliefs or opinions. I like the fact that I couldn't be excommunicated for being gay for example. I can not be tossed aside because I swing nor can I toss you aside because you swing or are bisexual.
So all I'm saying is that I enjoy belonging to a Church that outwardly espouses a view that agrees with mine -- I(we) don't have all the answers so I'm not going to condemn you for where you are in your journey of self-discovery and life.
